Critic Reviews for Tennis On-Court

Tennis On-Court is full of missed opportunities. This is the first game in the sport to hit the PSVR 2 and due to this, interest around the game was at a high. However, Fishing Cactus failed to capitalize on the excitement due to a number of issues. There is potential with the mechanics but the focus on creating a simulator makes the moment-to-moment gameplay feel inconsistent and the lack of modes means you’ll quickly tire of the experience.

That describes the game on the whole, really. A give and take where one element of the game is great fun, but another is broken or unpolished. What you're left with is a game with a super fun core that's unfortunately too broken to put any meaningful amount of time into.

Tennis On-Court could have been a good game. The tennis is handled well here, it can really come close to simulation, the physics and hit detection are well done. But that's not enough if there's no interesting content to play.

No, in its current state we cannot recommend "Tennis On-Court". While the game has a lot of potential, it's not the first time in PS VR2's young history that a half-finished game has been released at launch. It will be interesting to see if the developers are willing to implement the necessary improvements.

An impressively intuitive control scheme and accurate ball physics hint at an enjoyable tennis experience, but a lack of meaningful content and a busted online mode end up costing Tennis On-Court the game, set and match.

Tennis On Court has just one thing going for it, it’s realistic physics. It seems as though all the effort was put into this one feature, and everything else was left in the dust. With some updates and fixes, and a deep sale, Tennis On Court could be worthy of your time and money. As of now, it isn’t.
