Genotype doesn't do anything particularly wrong, but it definitely doesn't do anything particularly well. The open-ended approach to exploration is quite immersive, but combat quickly becomes dull and repetitive.

The game has been out for quite some time now and while I don't know how good or bad it was prior to these last few massive updates, I know that today, Genotype is probably one of the best single-player games you can play on Quest 3. I strongly recommend this game.
Genotype feels like a missed opportunity. It starts with great promise but ultimately shows the limitations of a production weighed down by its ambitions. The gameplay doesn't fully utilize the protagonist's gloves, sticking to predictable paths. With more creativity, it could have been a standout VR title.
