Spells & Secrets Reviews
Spells & Secrets has potential, but the frame rate drops on the Nintendo Switch make it frustrating to play. Otherwise, the controls aren't too bad, but the overall story and characters are lackluster.
My only gripes are predominantly mechanical and slightly limiting options, as otherwise, Spells & Secrets is an easy no-brainer for magic lovers and enthusiasts looking for a wizarding home.
Spells & Secrets is a game with a great idea, fun co-op, and a friendly gameplay that stimulates creativity. However, it suffers from a weak story and a rather apathetic universe that fails to captivate the player. Despite this, it works as a good gateway for players who are curious about the roguelike genre.

For fans of magic and witchcraft, Spells & Secrets offers a full plate that pleases in terms of plot and gaming premises in roguelite and RPG structures. However, on the Switch, these factors are hampered due to the game's current performance, which becomes less fun and, at times, even irritating. It would be amazing if the problems were magically fixed through updates, as there is so much potential and creativity hidden in the enchanted castle of Greifenstein's Academy.

Despite having some qualities, Spell & Secrets suffers from the problem of repetitiveness common in roguelike games and does not present many alternatives to overcome it. Its story is uninteresting, making it seem like a generic copy of Harry Potter, and its challenges are not very diverse, making it quickly dull and predictable. However, the spell options manage to ensure a bit of quality to the gameplay, allowing different approaches to combat, as well as multiplayer, which makes it more dynamic and fun. In this case, I believe that Spells & Secrets can be recommended if you have a friend to play with you.
