Confidential Killings - A Detective Game’s artwork, which combines 1970s glamour with a noir aesthetic, has plenty of style. However, the puzzles lack substance, kneecapping attempts at intrigue and challenge by showing their hand far too early. There’s a decent story, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have some fun filling in the blanks of these deadly scenarios, but this was far from the killer experience I was hoping for.
Fans of The Golden Idol should definitely give it a try, even despite its flaws. It has its strong moments and a distinct atmosphere, and on top of that, the developer’s care and attention are clearly evident. In my view, even if it doesn’t become a cult classic, it will certainly find a small but dedicated fan base.

Confidential Killings didn’t always satisfy me with its exploration of its narrative or characters, but it still managed to be an excellent puzzle game, one that uses gritty noir storytelling and pulpy graphic novel visuals as presentation for its challenging brainteasers.

Confidential Killings-A Detective Game offers a taste of deductive reasoning and sleuthing, ideal for those who want a just right challenge, not too easy and not too hard. Its layout creates a smooth process for collecting information and connecting dots. As the game progresses, so do the cases, further challenging detective skills. Overall, it’s a normal difficulty deductive reasoning game that gives you a taste of being a detective.
