Jesus Simulator

Critic Reviews for Jesus Simulator
I wouldn’t have minded Jesus Simulator‘s existence if I was able to notice some kind of care and sincerity were used when crafting it. I simply cannot accept such a pathetic excuse for a game to be infested with AI-generated content, being just barely functional (how can you make pressing the Enter button feel so unresponsive?), and just being slightly longer than the Steam refund period limit so an innocent duped believer can’t even get their hard-earned money back after beating/enduring it.
Jesus Simulator is an interesting concept, turning one of the most well-known stories in history into an interactive experience, and I’ll give it some credit for trying something different. The narrative approach is respectful and easy to follow, and the inclusion of the mini-games helps break up the story. However, the game struggles to deliver on what could have been potential. Between the lifeless world design, stiff animations, poor graphical quality and lack of immersion, it becomes difficult to stay engaged.
Jesus Simulator tries to provide an interactive experience around the life of Jesus, but the execution falls somewhat short. Unclear objectives, minimal graphics, and frustrating controls make it difficult to enjoy the game, preventing the concept from being fully realized.

Jesus Simulator is not a game in the traditional sense of the word. It is an interactive retelling of the Gospel, presented with respect, care and a clear intention to honour the original text. The idea of telling the Gospel in an interactive format is interesting and potentially inspiring – the presentation is quite polished and the narrative, told from multiple perspectives, is compelling – but it is held back by simplistic gameplay and inconsistent technical execution. Judged on the basis of its intentions, and not merely by the standards of the video game medium or interactive narrative adventures, it succeeds in its aim: to offer players a way to experience the life of Jesus first-hand. Ultimately, it remains a niche experience, recommended almost exclusively to those who are genuinely curious about the concept or the subject matter!
