Critic Reviews for Whirlight - No Time To Trip
Whirlight: No Time to Trip is a new point-and-click from developer imaginarylab and showcases their love for the genre's qualities.
Whirlight: No Time to Trip is a hardcore homage to point-and-click puzzle adventure games.
Whirlight, while a competent point-and-click, offers little beyond nostalgia for players already devoted to the genre.
Whirlight - No Time To Trip offers a delightful experience for old-school fans of the genre, but it’s also true that players who expect absolute logic in puzzles or are used to getting help whenever they get stuck may find it quite challenging.

This crazy time-travel adventure is a great variation on the Back to the Future movies. You'll love the two main characters. You'll struggle at times, laugh a lot, and you'll definitely not get bored.

Whirlight: No Time To Trip is a brilliant little adventure game that feels like a genuine love letter to classic point-and-click titles without relying purely on nostalgia to carry it. The puzzles are clever, the writing is funny, the characters are genuinely lovable, and the presentation is fantastic from start to finish. More importantly, it’s just consistently enjoyable to play. Even when I got stuck on a puzzle, I still wanted to keep exploring the world and spending time with the characters. ImaginaryLab has clearly put a huge amount of care into this game, and it shows in every part of the experience. From the detailed environments to the sharp dialogue and inventive puzzle design, everything feels crafted with real passion. If you’re a fan of classic adventure games, this is an easy recommendation. And honestly, even if you’re normally not into point-and-click titles, Whirlight might still surprise you. It’s funny, charming, weird in all the right ways, and most importantly, it remembers that games are supposed to be fun. I give Whirlight: No Time To Trip the Thumb Culture Platinum Award!
Ultimately, Whirlight – No Time To Trip delivers everything a great point-and-click adventure should. It offers memorable characters you genuinely enjoy spending time with, inventive puzzles that strike an excellent balance between challenge and accessibility, and a story packed with charm, humour, and just the right amount of absurdity. If you have any affection for point-and-click adventures, whether you grew up with the classics or simply enjoy a well-crafted modern take on the formula, this is absolutely a game you shouldn’t miss. Highly recommended.
Whirlight – No Time To Trip is a true old-school point-and-click adventure and a genuine treat for fans of the genre. However, it may be difficult to recommend to players accustomed to modern gameplay systems, cinematic storytelling, and streamlined design philosophies. The game is a reminder of a different era of gaming, one built around exploring strange worlds, experimenting with bizarre item combinations, and solving unconventional puzzles through patience and creativity. For genre veterans, this is an easy recommendation, but newcomers or players looking for a more casual experience may find its classic design approach difficult to embrace.
