Space Haven Reviews
Space Haven is a deep and unforgiving space colony sim in which you begin with four survivors and a handful of resources, tasked with building a self-sustaining interstellar colony piece by piece. Its gameplay weaves together crew management, production, power distribution, oxygen systems, research, combat, and rescue missions into a complex experience that rewards careful planning and nerves of steel. The excellent pixel art is paired with a somewhat rigid progression that veteran players may find predictable, but that's a trait shared by many of the genre's defining classics.

After an incredible ten years of development and six years in Early Access, the space survival simulator has reached its full release. Is it still attractive? Yes! Is it perfectly tuned and flawless? Unfortunately, no.

A brilliant 250 MB titan of a space simulator. It masterfully blends top-tier ludonarrative harmony with an evocative, uncompromising mid-90s isometric aesthetic tailored perfectly for old minds. By fusing intricate production chains with organic human drama, Bugbyte has forged a punishing yet deeply alluring sci-fi survival generator. An absolute triumph of indie perseverance.
Space Haven heavily reminds me of games like Rimworld, and Lords and Villains. You have to take your time and find out what works best, and with every mistake you learn to do it better next time. It rewards you for your failure in small amounts. I do think the space station mode is a lot more challenging compared to the normal one. As most of the time, I spawned in with barely any materials; however, I am also too stubborn to lower the difficulty. I’m not sure if someone who has a better grasp of these types of games will love it. But like me, I can see a few new players getting some fun out of it for a while. So if you do like games similar to what I said, Space Haven might just be another that takes most of your time. That is why I am giving it the Thumb Culture Gold Award. I’m going to be playing this on and off for sure in the future to come.
A versatile simulator, RPG and strategy game set in space impresses.
