Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 1 + 2 Dual Collection Reviews
If I were to score these Luminous Avenger iX 1 & 2 Dual Collection individually, I would give the first game an 8 and the second a 6. It truly feels like a new development team was handed the design document from the first installment, but half the pages were missing and they just "made do." While both are interesting Gunvolt spin-offs, Luminous Avenger iX 1 is the much more satisfying experience, which makes the package as a whole difficult to fully recommend, even if the Switch 2 upgrades are noteworthy.
With welcome enhancements, oodles of entertaining guest boss encounters, and incredibly fun core games, Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 1+2 Dual Collection is a must for any fan of 2D action. ⚡
Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 1+2 Dual Collection is a great way to experience two of INTI CREATES' best works. Although the limited new content makes it hard to recommend this duology to those who already own the included titles, there is no denying that this is currently the most complete version of Copen and Lola's early adventures.

Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 1-2 Dual Collection delivers the definitive version of a solid platforming duology, featuring a surprising story, a strong protagonist, memorable bosses, and great new additions like Infinite Battle mode and DLC. On the other hand, the drastic gameplay changes and the second chapter's inferior plot might frustrate or alienate those expecting an experience similar to the original, even with improvements like the new buff.

Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 1+2 Dual Collection is a double dose of some of Inti Creates’ most considered games to date. While it’s fair to say that it’s probably too soon for a collection like this, it delivers subtle but keen improvements to gameplay in addition to performance enhancements that let the games play smoother than ever. While not every quirk has been addressed, such as more translation polish, the games are quite good and easy to recommend. Luminous Avenger iX 1 in particular is my favorite game in the series to date, featuring a solid (if short) story and incredibly focused, rewarding score attack gameplay. If you haven’t jumped in already, this is a great way to get prepared for Luminous Avenger iX 3.
The Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 1 + 2 Dual Collection contains two charming action titles that feature fairly simple core systems but also offer upward potential for interested players. The style of the pixel graphics and illustrations is pleasant to look at, and I enjoy the musical accompaniment. Simply playing through the games is very accessible, especially in the second installment, but more challenge is provided as well. That the former download contents are included is welcome.
