Skatesterre Reviews
If you’re a longtime fan of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series and desperately want a new game, and don’t care for what Activision is doing with it, you could certainly choose to play Skatesterre.
Old-school-inspired skateboarding game on Nintendo Switch 2
Undoubtedly aspiring to capture the feel and excitement of the Tony Hawk franchise, a lack of any onboarding, honestly feeling a bit too fast, and not much in the way of originality make it crash and burn
I didn't go into Skatesterre expecting a perfect, flawless Tony Hawk's Pro Skater clone. Unfortunately, the game has so many problems that negatively impact the gameplay that I had to ask myself who made these decisions and more importantly left them in the game. Skatesterre really offers very little to make it worthwhile and the reliance on dressing the protagonist in increasingly revealing outfits should be outdated by 2026. I might have been able to overlook these issues if the gameplay were at least fun, but I basically just cheesed myself through the levels to see everything and wrap it up.
