Psycho-Sleuth tells a genuinely compelling story with genuinely compelling characters. I only wish its gameplay were as engaging as its story and characters.

Psycho-Sleuth is an interesting new take on "killing game" titles with a memorable cast, unusual psychic powers, and a refreshingly unpredictable story.

How fortunate that I not only love death games but can also rejoice over well-constructed murder cases! Psycho Sleuth has plenty of those. Over five chapters, I was consistently very well entertained for around 25 hours, delighting in every new case, every new twist, and every new Pathosync—especially regarding the roles these characters played within the murders. But I wrestled for a long time over whether the traffic light should signal full green light or advise some caution. Mainly because some circumstances of the investigations felt rather contrived to me, and then there's the secondary issue of the presentation, which left a bitter taste—the atmosphere in many scenes is unintentionally undermined. So while I can recommend the crime and novel aspects without hesitation, saying the same about the whole work is harder. Particularly since Psycho Sleuth unfortunately doesn't dare to step out from behind the beary shadow and clings to it all too slavishly.
