Critic Reviews for TurnOn
Turn On is a delightful and relaxing platformer with a few difficulty spikes to keep you on your toes. A joy to play, for the most part, but some glitches and dull levels later in the game hold it back from greatness.
Despite these shortcomings, I still find myself drawn to TurnOn. The majority of its levels are slow-paced and exploration-based, and there's something surprisingly cathartic about gradually lighting up the entirety of an area. It's just too bad that Brainy Studio wasn't comfortable enough to stick to TurnOn's strengths and had to turn to alternative sources for its energy.
From the originality of the story, to the illustrative comic book panel scenes and exceptional graphics, Turn On is a fantastic casual platformer guaranteed to help pass a few hours of your day with a smile on your face.
TurnOn is a simple game, which is both a blessing and a detriment. The frustrating parts really drag down the overall experience, and the core game itself just isn’t that interesting. Sometimes simplicity is not the answer.
With its laid-back approach to platforming, and excellent use of color and sound, you'd be hard pressed to find a game as charming and endearing as TurnOn.
Brainy Studio has created a platform with a good dose of originality and experimentation, with bits of adventure and rythm game mechanics. A good formula that manages to capture the players attention, but its however, weakened by the lack of challenge and a series of tedious and quite frustrating musical levels. Anyway, TurnOn proves to be a pleasant, bizarre and curious gaming experience.

TurnOn is an enjoyable and heartwarming little game. With electrical wires instead of platforms, it offers gameplay that feels fresh, piquing your interest at every turn with whatever new adventure or obstacle you’ll face next.
Oozing charm and potential, this really is a great example of what a small development team can achieve and Brainy Studio's pride in their creation is alluded to throughout the game. It's undeniable that TurnOn does a lot of things right, which makes it sadly all the more noticeable when something doesn't quite hit the mark. Even so, if you give it some time, there's a chance that you'll find a place in your heart for Turnon's journey through Electro City's night of darkness.
