Style Savvy: Fashion Forward Reviews
Let's be real: unless Nintendo and DeNA take this series to mobile, this is probably the last Style Savvy game we're going to get. If Style Savvy: Fashion Forward is the franchise's last hurrah, it certainly doesn't go out on a low note as it has the best fashion and is filled to the brim with stuff to do. But readjusting to a real time clock means changing the way I enjoy this series, and without the addictive draw of a short day and night cycle, I don't see this game taking dozens of hours of my time as past entries have done.
Don’t mistake “Style Savvy: Fashion Forward” for mere shovelware, dahling. This game is dedicated to serving up the fashionista lifestyle with solid production and oodles of content for wannabe fashion consultants, designers and runway models. The lack of male options are a bummer and the game certainly won’t be for everyone. If you love lifestyle fashion games and don’t want to sell your soul to Kim Kardashian, however, this is a solid option.
Style Savvy: Fashion Forward is a charming but repetitive experience that's best enjoyed in short bursts.
If you want to know if this is a good videogame, just look at the first paragraph. It does exactly what it says on the tin. If you want to know how fashion can enrich your life, here’s my advice: you, too, should just buy this game. Just get it already. And maybe that pair of shoes you’ve been eyeing. You earned it.
My recommendation is to play the demo. If you really like it, understand that Fashion Forward doesn’t really evolve much beyond those walls. You might be okay with that, but I’m finding that I’m not.
