Hollow Knight Reviews
Hollow Knight is one of the diamonds born from the passion and dedication of independent software houses. Nothing to envy from any triple A title. An adventure that ignites the player's desire for knowledge by proposing a consolidated formula like the Metroidvania skillfully mixed with the Soulslike genre. Curiosity will push us to find all the answers in the game world and to overcome any frustration due to difficulty. Hand-made drawings and animations create a perfect union with the soundtrack in order to convey a sense of bewilderment and loneliness and then reach an extreme calmness on the finish. A title not to be missed, certainly to be recovered before the already announced sequel.

I don’t consider this game perfect but it’s pretty damn near it. And I’ve started to rate a lot of games based off of how much I’ve enjoyed them overall while still trying to be fair with overall game design and all that.
An immense underground kingdom, once a prosperous place, today is nothing more than a pile of tunnels that house dilapidated settlements. The few inhabitants who survived and who have not been affected by "La Infección" survive on the surface, in the small village of Bocasucia. It is this little rest of civilization, then, our point of departure. So armed only with our sting, an uncertain purpose and eager to discover what is hidden under our feet, we descend through the well that leads us to this lost kingdom. It's time to discover Hallownest.

Hollow Knight is yet another example of a great fit on the Switch. The game is extremely challenging and offers up some fun gameplay mechanics. It’s also very long for this type of game, so you’re sure to get your money’s worth!
An excellent and challenging Metroidvania style game that is ultimately limited by its difficulty. If you can tackle its challenges, you'll find one of the most exciting games.
Hollow Knight is a charming, atmospheric effort which takes the Metroidvania style of games to new heights, evolving its inspiration to a experience that's simply a lot of fun to play. It's brutally difficult at times, perfect for those who love a good challenge nad dislike hand-holding, and its various strategic elements bring in a lot of variety. Hollow Knight's aim is on-point, and then some.
Difficulty and accessibility come together to make this a game that all can appreciate, no matter their level of expertise with the genre, and on top of this, Hollow Knight makes some small inclusions that every new game in the genre should look at implementing. Team Cherry, you’ve achieved something extraordinary and I cannot wait to see where the journey leads you next.
Although it doesn't take that many risks, Hollow Knight is unique enough with its Metroidvania elements and its own take on Dark Souls lore. Its gameplay is tight and fluid, its art direction is on point, and it provides more than 30h of enjoyment if you consider the multiple endings—which are more engaging than a couple of choices right after the final boss fight—as well as the free expansion packs, all of which add enough content to prolong the experience.
Hollow Knight is a content-rich Metroidvania with great visuals, a well designed combat system and a memorable mysterious world. It's easily one of the best games of 2017.
