Critic Reviews for Touhou Genso Wanderer
Touhou Genso Wanderer is a worthy addition to any roguelike fan's collection, and even more so for Touhou fans as there are references to their other games throughout this one.
Touhou Genso Wanderer is a very nice and accessible rogue like that is perfect for newcomers to the genre and fun for veterans alike.
Interesting but simply. Fun but ugly. Addictive but not for very long... A nice game that makes a well a lot of things, but also fails on others.

By adding in an interesting story and supporting cast the game proves it can stand on its own compared to some of the all time best in the genre. Touhou Genso Wanderer is a frustrating and wonderful dungeon crawler that fits perfectly into the doujin Touhou universe.
Ultimately, Touhou Genso Wanderer is a solid, if unspectacular, dungeon crawler. It’s in a strange area in-between accessible titles like Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and ones built specifically for hardcore players. While it’s not as good as the top of its class, there’s still some solid fun (and challenge) to be had if you’re looking for something new.
Touhou Genso Wanderer can feel like a lot to take on at times. As beginners to the series, a lot of time was spent feeling as if we were on the back foot and had missed chunks of tutorial content. The game's fun enough to begin with but becomes frustrating very quickly, and ultimately doesn't offer enough excitement to sustain any interest that it may have piqued early on.
A roguelike like many other out there, imbued with cuteness but boring and frustrating in most of its moments.

Touhou Genso Wanderer is a charming and challenging take on the classic Mystery Dungeon formula with lovably wacky Touhou characters. Presentation is great for this type of roguelike game and it also features lots of Japanese voice acting. Like many games in the genre, it can feel grindy and repetitive at times, and its difficulty also might scare newcomers away. If you like games like Shiren or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, however, this is one title you'll want to wander into.
