Just like with the release of the original game, Destiny 2 leaves us wanting more: More strikes, more missions, more of everything. This is a strong testament to the fantastic core gameplay even if other aspects of Destiny 2 come up short.

At its core, Destiny 2 takes everything you loved about the original and cranked it up to 11.

Destiny 2 is proving to be an enjoyable experience that I hope has enough mileage to keep its huge player base entertained through to when the first major expansion releases

Destiny 2 manages to take the criticisms of the first title — a non-engaging story, lackluster PVP UI — and improves upon them immensely, forging a fantastic journey that's essential for any gaming fan to dive into and experience.

Destiny 2 represents an evolutionary jump similar to what the Bungie team was able to accomplish with Halo 2, both qualitatively and quantitatively. The innovations of Activision’s subsidiary fit perfectly into the digital fabric of the original chapter: thanks to an impeccable gunplay, an interesting story and an innumerable array of activities to play, the gaming experience offered by the latest Bungie colossal shooter promises to be one of the deepest and most complete of this generation of video games.

Destiny 2 on PC gets the graphics settings and modularity right, but some of the in-game systems just scream console a bit too much. A great sequel that should have been an expansion is finally in reach of those who prefer uncapped frame rates and a mouse in hand.

The gunplay in Destiny 2 is excellent. Unfortunately, Bungie still doesn’t understand how to handle an MMO grind—especially in the late game—and the storytelling is atrocious. After about 15-20 hours, the loot stopped rolling in and I realized how tedious the game was without a regular flow of new shiny things. Destiny 2 will sell by the millions, but I’m going to need some huge changes to go back for Destiny 3.

Destiny 2 is definitely a better game than the previous title. If you're not a Destiny fan you could try this one, if you're a Destiny fan then this should be a no-brainer. Everything feels familiar and improved, the perfect kind of sequel.

Slightly underwhelmed, but still a classy shooter that will be made 100% better if played with friends. Future content will make or break the longevity of Destiny 2 though.

Destiny 2 is definitely more Destiny, and it’s Destiny done well. The story is fun and more engaging, the worlds are gorgeous albeit tighter than I would like, and having the ability to hop to another world from anywhere is a huge improvement. There’s plenty of loot to find while playing any of the campaign missions, side-quests, and community events. If it weren’t for the shader system, Bungie would have hit a grand slam, but for right now, I can settle for a home run.

This game is what Destiny should have been in 2014. This feels like a true first step in a great franchise. That it’s their second step isn’t completely lost on me. It’s not quite too little too late but its close. I’d like them to follow Blizzards release plan. You know a major expansion with a full game worth of content every 2 years and in between several free content expansions to keep the community alive.

Destiny 2 is a vast improvement over the original Destiny. The shooting is still top-notch, Bungie has crafted grand worlds to explore, the environments are simply beautiful, and the delivery of the game's story is much better. The game still falters in when it comes to satisfying endgame progression and it's missing some standard MMO features. All in all though, Destiny 2 is a damned good MMO time, no subscription fee required.

Without aiming to revolutionize the recipe, Destiny 2 does exactly what you’d expect of it: to correct the numerous defects of a game which had the base of becoming a legendary experience. With its impressive artistic direction and the beauty of its soundtrack, Destiny 2 offers this time a properly done story experience worthy of the legacy of Bungie. Epic, alone or with friends, the game is simply richer, more complete, and better thought out. A must have whether you are a veteran of the series or a budding guardian.

'Destiny 2' has largely improved the formula that made its predecessor so addictive, yet frustrating at the same time. The gameplay, specifically the shooting, feels even more satisfying than it did in the original game. With a tangible story and a vastly improved end-game, players who plan to stick with this game for the long term are bound to enjoy the ride.

I’m hooked! I knew I would be before even starting the game as so much about the mechanics of the Destiny franchise appeal to me. There was certainly room for a lot of change that just doesn’t seem to have been utilized, and the expanse of the tower also feels a tad unrealized (it is however, more extensive than that of its predecessor). The general improvements to leveling up, the class system and greatly improved storyline are extremely welcomed and focus on character development really leaves an impression on you. Whilst I love just about every element of the Destiny 2 I do however, feel like I am playing a massive expansion to Destiny as opposed to a completely new game. I know that the universe is the same and there is only so much that can be changed in that regard however, enough is the same that I felt instantly at home again as opposed to playing a completely new entry in the franchise. In saying that I am happy with level of familiarity as I know there is a lot still yet to come that will define Destiny 2 as its own entity. Overall I am very impressed with Destiny 2 and will most certainly be pushing forward with the grind to get ready for the inbound raids and expansions.

Destiny 2 seems to be a bit of an enigma. A shooter on console that is an RPG with MMO elements brought together into something truly special. A game that keeps the player enthralled with enough incentive to keep coming back every day or every couple of days to advance their character enough to be able to do more stuff.
