Kung Fury: Street Rage Reviews
Kung Fury: Street Rage ends up being a decent distraction from other major retail releases in short bursts, but is severely hampered by the lack of modes and overall repetitiveness of it all. What can be said is how Hello There definitely put in the work to show adoration for the 80's with a authentically crafted look into what made that era great. Street Rage is fun in short gameplay sessions, but its a game no one really needs to own unless you're a big fan of the movie.
The action in Kung Fury: Street Rage – Ultimate Edition is as basic as can be for an '80s-inspired arcade brawler, but it captures the tone of the source material (not to mention many of the characters) in a manner that'll please fans of the original short film.
If you love classics like Streets of Rage or Double Dragon and long for the arcade cabinet experience of the past, Kung Fury could be what you're looking for, but its short length, frustrating mechanics and lack of variety really hold it back.
It's hard to say who Kung Fury: Street Rage would appeal to.
Two distinct beat-em-up modes, some wild characters, and a taste for ridiculousness help, but the quality of play is merely average
In any case, this is fun, this is dumb, this is a great distraction for exactly as long as you want to give it. Don’t expect to dedicate your life to this game, but have a few chuckles and maybe get inspired to watch the movie again. It is, after all, the only way to make it like a true survivor.
