Critic Reviews for Jeopardy!

Jeopardy! is a decent adaptation of the popular game show. It doesn't have the production values and eye for detail to fully capture the TV experience, but it's still fun as a multiplayer trivia game.

Where Jeopardy shines though is its progression. That is a weird thing to say, but every action in the game awards XP. Earn enough and players level up. Levelling up then unlocks new categories to choose from. It is a neat system that kept me playing far longer than I had intended.

Jeopardy, while still fun, has a number of issues. It’s visually bare bones, with no shots of the studio or players. The board shows pictures on a handful of answers, but the overall look is lacking ambition and a bit dull.

While neither Jeopardy! nor Wheel of Fortune are groundbreaking or innovative, they're both solid, fun choices for those who enjoy these classic TV game shows. They translate well into a play at home format with enough variety to keep things interesting.

If you can get past some shortcomings and the lack of host licensing, this collection is still decent fun. $40 may be too much for the whole set, but, if you prefer one game in particular, $20 is a fair price.

While Jeopardy offers a fairly strong trivia option for Nintendo’s handheld hybrid, Wheel of Fortune is a bit of a quick cash-in that feels a generation or two behind the curve. But, if you’re a diehard fan of either of these shows or you’re just looking for an innocent game for the family to play, you could do a whole lot worse than America’s Greatest Game Shows.
