Despite a story focused on humor and with a higher difficulty in combat, what stands out is still the lack of content and the exhaustive reiteration of it. This ends up harming an expansion that could be much better enjoyed with a science fiction approach.

Far Cry 5: Lost on Mars is a good waste of time! If you can ignore the very uninteresting and sometimes annoying narrative and character developments, you can find a unique gameplay with varied guns, powers, enemies and also fun and weird missions. Unlike the previous DLC, Lost on Mars actually delivers a lot of new content and systems that we have never seen in a Far Cry game before.

If you like sci-fi and Hurk, Lost on Mars has a treat for you. There's a surprising amount to do, tons of aliens to kill, and even some Clutch Nixon challenges. A highly recommended DLC.

From a pure mechanical point of view Lost on Mars is decent. It generally retains the fun of Far Cry 5 action in a different setting and story. The problem comes in the execution, with the previous originality and variety of missions and situations replaced by bland tower climbing and frustratingly repetitive boss fights. There is humour in Hurk and his tale and the AI 'ANNE' displays all the traits of a typically psychopathic computer system well. However, this humour only goes so far and can't assist in battling through the hours and hours of looped gameplay with weapon upgrades being the only meaningful reward for doing so. It is fair to say it hasn't been a vintage collection of expansion campaigns for Season Pass holders so far, with many arguably wanting more quality so far for Far Cry 5. Hopefully, the final one will make up for these disappointments.

Lost on Mars offers some space action in the style of Starship Troopers mixed with the humour you'd expect from Nick Rye and Hurk known from the main game. Big surprises are left out and the repetitive missions and jump actions hold this otherwise fun DLC a bit back. It's still better than Hours of Darkness but there is also a lot of room for more.

Lost on Mars is a substantial improvement over Hours of Darkness in almost every conceivable way. It’s not Blood Dragon brilliant and it does have its flaws and weakness, but I certainly enjoyed my time in space more than I didn’t. This helps scratch that Blood Dragon sequel itch, at least for a little while longer.

Lost on Mars‘ only redeeming feature is the humor and even that won’t be to everyone’s taste. There’s no variety to the enemies or indoor environments and the campaign is especially disappointing, being no more than a quest for collectibles. It’s hard to understand how DLC that takes you to Mars with a funny sidekick can end up being so unbelievably boring. Lost on Mars is another piece of skippable content in a season pass that is looking like a waste of time.

Lost on Mars plays like a completely new, fleshed-out game and has a surprising amount of content for a DLC. A funny yet predictable odyssey to the red planet.

Despite going to Mars and robots and aliens and lasers, Lost on Mars is so pedestrian and does nothing new with the setting besides a few platforming puzzles. Saving the world feels rather dull in a desert on Mars.

Lost on Mars is a fun, great looking DLC. It makes use of new gameplay mechanics and adapts some of older ones to fit Mars atmosphere. Unfortunately it's repetitive and empty.
