Imagine the soothing sounds of the rainforest unfolding around you. Listen to the rush of waves as birds flying overhead call out to one another. Life is all around you, you are one with nature. You begin life as a giant tree with little understanding of who, or what, you are. Enchanting opera singers guide you on your journey through the forest. Secrets are unlocked as you create friendships with other wanderers and piece together the story. You are encouraged to explore the beautiful world around you, seek out others like yourself, and take on new forms. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to soar the skies and feel the wind blow under your wings as a griffin, to be one with nature as a noble Oren, or swim the depths of the ocean as an agile amphibian, then uncover the enigma of co-operative, explorative gameplay that is Wander.

Wander is a broken and hollow shell of an MMO that lacks more than just combat.

An incomplete, creatively bankrupt vacuum. If we're so starved for nonviolent experiences that this is what we champion, the industry's in worse shape than I thought.

If there's no groundwork and fundamentals in place for players to interact with one another, especially for a game with zero objectives, it's destined to fail. I can understand what Wander was trying to do, but even so, it's both nowhere near complete and polished, and sadly, completely void of fun in any way.

We really wanted Wander to be brilliant, but unfortunately, it comes across as half-baked, lacking in things to do, and underwhelming in almost every area. The developer, Wander MMO, had some grand ideas for this title – but for the most part, it's been poorly executed. There is potential here for a compelling experience – perhaps after some significant patching – but for now, it doesn't quite reach the developer's lofty, risky goals.
