From the moment you lay your eyes on Mother Bilby, you’ll fall in love with this title. The beautiful animation, emotive story, and luscious backdrops echo great cartoons of the past. Proud Dinosaur has expertly crafted puzzles that mature in quality and difficulty as the game progresses. Although Macrotis: A Mother’s Journey is relatively short and a little sluggish at times, the game imbues quality, making this a journey worth taking.

Macrotis: A Mother’s Journey, is an enjoyable game if you’re looking to test your puzzle skills. Controls could be a bit more responsive and the trial and error approach to puzzles can become a bit dull. But it’s easy to say this is the best game starring an elephant shrew-like character I’ve played. It doesn’t do anything to reinvent the wheel but this is a solid casual puzzler if you give it a chance.

Despite these complaints, I quite liked what was being done here with Macrotis. It’s short, sweet, and to the point with very little padding or hair wrenching frustration. While it will probably only take 3 to 4 hours to complete, Macrotis: A Mother's Journey definitely has the puzzle platformer portion nail down to a decent extent. Now if only the physics and plotline could get a little nudge, it’d definitely be a pretty solid game.

Nowhere near as dramatic as its title implies, with ungainly puzzles and a decided lack of cohesion throughout.

Macrotis: A Mother’s Journey is not the game that it tries to portray and it can't transfer the experience that it wants to the players. its story is not emotional and impressive, its gameplay is not new and enjoyable and it's almost impossible to communicate with anything in game. Only play this game if you don't have any other platformer - puzzle game on your hand.
