Although not as good as MXGP 19, Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Video Game 3 is a strong and fun off-road arcade racer, and it knows it. The game looks pretty and the gameplay is simplistic (when compared to simulation titles), thus it allows you to sit down and enjoy it in short chunks. Bikes are detailed and sound great, which is perfect for any motorbike fan. It is just a shame that it suffers from weird input lag and awfully long loading times. Perhaps it will be fixed in a patch. Until then, however, you would be better off playing MXGP 2019.

Monster Energy Supercross 3 does not bring any groundbreaking innovations to players, although the Milestone studio could use a few things from another series that have proven themselves. Everything stays the same here.

With Monster Energy Supercross 3, a number of innovations have been promised that are also present, but basically do not necessarily require an update from Part 2. Although you have a fun alternative to your career with the expanded training area, which can now also be used by four people, the remaining innovations are rather limited. Yes, you can now generate female drivers and yes, you now have dedicated servers for multiplayer, but still it remains the same racing calendar as in the second part. Therefore, players have to decide for themselves whether they want to upgrade or not. The gameplay is as always fun and fans will surely get their money's worth with an accurate implementation of motocross sport. So it's up to you how you choose.

Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Videogame 3 is not a game for everyone, whoever says so is wrong. It is a very technical simulator to which we have to dedicate time to learn the different techniques that make us progress in our career since once you get into the dynamics of the game you will have as much fun as it will require. So if you like challenges, if you are one of those who do not care how many times you get up from the ground then you enjoy the fall, if you like to sweat in each curve and pray in each jump this is undoubtedly your game.

Even for someone who’s a casual observer of Supercross, Monster Energy Supercross 3 is quite a joy ride. It’s feature full, fun to play and deeply gratifying when things come together. There’s a steep learning curve, somewhat hampered by a tutorial that expects you to know the ins and outs of a Supercross track from the get go but once you’ve got the hang of it, you can get a lot out of it.

It’s clear with Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 3, it is driven by passion and authenticity for the sport. It’s the best in the series, even if it has a few rough edges. The UI takes a few unnecessary extra steps to navigate, but when that’s your largest issue, there’s little to worry about. The bevy of modes, inclusivity of riders, and wonderful simulation of supercross is unmatched. Now go try it with the first-person camera.
