Critic Reviews for Broken Lines
Broken Lines on Nintendo Switch is a project with an interesting idea, but ruined by a bad implementation. A fresh look at the combat system using smart pause could please fans of the genre, but endless technical problems, bugs and glitches just do not allow you to enjoy the game. The situation may be better on PC, but to be honest, we are not sure. We will make an update on the computer version later.

Broken Lines is a game that frustrating misses nearly every shot it tried to make. While there are aspects of fun to found, they are unfortunately buried in trenches of tedium and disappointment.
Fans of turn-based combat games will enjoy aspects of Broken Lines, but not without a certain degree of aggravation. It has promise, but the story and gameplay could've used a little more refinement.
Broken Lines has some noticeable flaws such as performance woes, a lack of weapon variety and utility, and a poorly implemented save system. Still, it manages to entertain you during its short campaign and there are additional replayability quirks. The pause-and-play concept rewards smart, tactical decisions while you revel in the action that unfolds.
Combining meaningful decisions with largely grounded tactical combat, Broken Lines hopes to pull the player into its world. With the ”The Dead and the Drunk” expansion recently released, we thought now is a good time to look at the title as a whole and see if it’s worth picking up. How much fun can a game about death, despair, and the occasional war crime possibly be? Let’s find out!
Broken Lines tells an alternative World War II history, following a desperate journey made by eight survivors. Despite some missing points, the tactical game system works well and every decision has its own weight.

If you are a fan of strategy games this is a great entry for the genre. Regardless of if you prefer turn-based or real-time, this game is worth checking out.
Throwing the notion of good intentions with potential bad outcomes into the mix of a war game results in a compelling game that is well worth the replay.
