While WWE 2K Battlegrounds attempts to campaign itself for everyone, it unfortunately relies on a wealthy wallet within an unprecedented climate.
WWE 2K Battlegrounds turned out to be a major letdown. There was a lot of outcry over WWE 2K20 because of the multiple glitches and the fact that the game felt unfinished. There was hope that WWE 2K Battlegrounds would be a new addition to the series that would add something novel but it was just a step in the wrong direction.
WWE 2K Battlegrounds turns out better than expected and delivers some fun arcade-wrestling with friends for a couple of hours. Nonetheless the game lacks depth and versatility. Most importantly the omnipresent microtransactions really hurt the overall feel for the brawler, which could have wound up far more enjoyable than it actually did.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds is one of the weakest WWE-based titles. A very shallow and weak title that is made only to empty the pockets of the fans of WWE and has no value for the experience. The game is miles away from the standards of console titles and can ultimately be compared to a mobile title.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds knows exactly what it wants to be, and gets the job done. At first glance, people might be turned off by how the game looks and plays, but wrestling games are much better when not taken seriously.
