Dune: Awakening was primed to be one of 2025's biggest hits, debuting to a peak player count of over 180,000 players in June, almost immediately fostering a loyal fanbase who were eager to etch out a legacy among the sands. Just five months later, however, and that fanbase is already running on fumes.

In July, the peak player count dipped by 39.3 percent. While that's typical for a game like this - the initial hype wears down, people move on, and the game reaches a steady average as the core playerbase starts to emerge - the peak player count didn't level out as you'd expect. It continued to crater.

A month later, in August, the peak dropped by 59 percent, bringing its highest player count down to 47,000. September was much calmer, with a drop of just 4.9 percent, but the sharp decline resumed soon after in October, with a 52.6 percent loss in peak player count.
