EA has announced that there won't be a full F1 26 premium game this year, with the publisher opting to offer a paid expansion for existing title F1 25 that covers the new season instead.
Per a news post on the official EA website, the decision not to make F1 26 is part of "a strategic reset for the F1 franchise", which will return in 2027 with a full game that "looks, feels, and plays differently" and "mark[s] the start of a new and more expansive F1 experience".
As for the paid F1 25 expansion, it's set to deliver "new cars, sporting regulations, teams, and drivers", and will reflect "major changes" for the 2026 F1 season. There's no word yet on when it will be available, though.
Developer Codemasters promises a "refreshed experience that expands on what longtime players have loved" from F1 as a franchise. The new game will also "simultaneously celebrat[e] the excitement of Formula 1 in new ways".
