Metroid Prime 4's build has had fans of the series a little concerned about what we're going to get when it launches later this week. Well, the reviews are in, while it's not a disaster, its scores don't measure up to the first three Metroid Prime games.
With scores still filtering in, the latest installment in the Metroid Prime series is averaging an 85 on OpenCritic, and even lower on Metacritic with just 79. While those scores aren't exactly disastrous, they're considerably lower than all three prior Prime games, as well as the original's remaster, all of which score 90 or more.
Here at TheGamer, Jade King gave Prime 4 a score of 4/5. Our review, which you can check out here in full, notes that the game is "a worthwhile return for Samus Aran that, with any luck, teases an exciting future. There is so much in this revival I want to see addressed, expanded upon, and experimented with in whatever comes next."
Elsewhere, Forbes gave the long-awaited new 3D Metroid game a 9/10, specifically stating that its new characters are "not overly chatty", something fans of the series have been concerned about. VGC's verdict isn't quite so...
