Mortal Kombat movie producer Todd Garner has reacted to the out-of-nowhere diss that the Street Fighter movie cast made against the movie at The Game Awards last night.
As always, The Game Awards showcase last night was full of reveals, surprising moments, and celebrity cameos, albeit ones that felt a little more suited to the show. A great example of that is when the first look at the Street Fighter movie was revealed, and pretty much the whole cast for the movie came out on stage to celebrate.
While on stage, Andrew Schulz, who is playing Dan Hibiki in the Street Fighter movie, randomly joked that the Mortal Kombat 2 cast was going to join everyone on stage. What seemed like a dream moment for fighting game fans was quickly revealed to be a joke, with Schulz saying they didn't show up because "they only care about the money".
Although the joke was really just a lighthearted jab that played on the eternal rivalry between Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, it's one that wasn't appreciated by the Mortal Kombat movie's producer, Todd Garner. As pointed out by IGN, Garner reacted to a clip of the moment on Twitter...
