Divinity: Original Sin 2 is enjoying a new lease on life as thousands of players return to Rivellon after The Game Awards, spurred on by the gory Burning Man festival that was the new Divinity trailer.
D:OS2 was hitting concurrent peaks of around 4,000 players before the event, but over the weekend, it reached an impressive 24-hour peak of 9,325 players, doubling its average. This spike in interest has also pushed the game into the top 200 most-played on Steam (via SteamDB), which might not sound like much, but that's pretty impressive for a nearly decade-old cRPG.
The first Original Sin is likewise enjoying a huge boost in players, shooting up from its November peak of 941 to an impressive 1,757. But it's not just the Original Sin games that are seeing a renaissance amid the new TGA trailer; there are literally tens of us flocking back to the originals, too.
The highest peak player count Divine Divinity, the first game in the series, reached this year was 78 back in January, but after TGA, it doubled that number, hitting a 24-hour peak of 153 - half of its all-time peak. C'mon, we can beat that....
