The developers of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis have revealed some juicy details about the remake, while commenting on its connection to another upcoming part of the franchise.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is an upcoming ground-up remake of the original Tomb Raider, which will be released as part of the series’ 30th anniversary celebrations. This marks a new iteration of Lara Croft, who will also appear in a full-fledged sequel, called Tomb Raider: Catalyst, launching in 2027.
In a recent Q&A session with Crystal Dynamics’ Head of Studio Scot Amos and Game Director Will Kerslake confirmed some details about Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, including its difficulty and its connection to Amazon’s Tomb Raider TV show.
There Could Be Two Lara Crofts In The Same Franchise
Amos and Kerslake have left the door open for a connection to the upcoming Tomb Raider TV show, turning it into a full cross-media franchise. This means two possible incarnations of Lara Croft at the same time, with Alix Wilton Regan portraying her in Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Catalyst, while Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner is the new Lara in the show.
