Netflix Gets Exclusive Streaming Rights To Nintendo's Live-Action Zelda Film

The Legend of Zelda is breaking into the live-action movie scene next year, and while we don't know much yet, at least we have casting announcements and the first few set photos to enjoy.

News will presumably be slow to reach us for a while to come, but the industry's business side stops for no one, and word has hit the Hollywood scene that Netflix has scooped up exclusive rights to stream the as-yet untitled film once it's past its theatrical window.

The move comes as part of a much larger deal between Netflix and Sony Pictures, which effectively gives the world's most popular streamer first-run access to everything that the studio puts out. Famitsu caught wind of it, and NintendoLife carried the torch forward. Credit where credit's due and all.

Under the terms of this deal, the Zelda movie (and its contemporaries) will head to theaters first before hitting Netflix. I bolded that bit because I don't want people freaking out and thinking the theatrical experience is out the window. What I am a bit more conncerned about, however, is just how thin a window that may be.

We're still waiting on that Fable trailer, but...
