Let It Die Is Going Offline After Nearly A Decade Of Live Service

After nearly a decade of live service, Let It Die is preparing to take its final bow online. In an exclusive interview with TheGamer, the team confirmed it will sunset the original online version and shift to an offline version in fall 2026.

“By transitioning it to an offline version, we hope to preserve it for the future and ensure that more people can continue to enjoy it for years to come,” director Hideyuki Shin said.

Once the transition happens, server maintenance will no longer factor into the experience, and access will not depend on active online support. The game will be something you simply own and return to.

One of the biggest structural changes involves Death Metals, the game’s premium currency. In the Offline version, Death Metals will be discontinued, and any remaining balance will be converted into Kill Coins. Systems that previously relied on premium spending, Continues, storage expansion, premium decal purchases, base renovation items, retrieving Fighters, will now function using Kill Coins instead.

For Shin, the decision to make this switch ultimately came down to preservation.
