Despite Its Failure, Remedy Can Afford To Keep FBC: Firebreak Online

FBC: Firebreak was a big misstep for Remedy. This multiplayer shooter set in the Control universe clearly wasn't what fans of the studio's work were after, as it failed to meet sales targets.

Support for FBC: Firebreak came to an end in March, although Remedy said that it would still keep the lights on for those who were enjoying it. Now, with a new earnings report from the studio, it looks like it can afford to keep the servers up indefinitely, as this apparently doesn't amount to any "substantial" costs.

As reported by This Week In Videogames, Remedy's latest earnings reports indicate that it enjoyed a profitable first quarter, even if profits were lower than the previous year.

"Remedy had a profitable first quarter of 2026, ahead of marketing ramp up and related spend to support the launch of Control Resonant," the report reads. "Revenue from game sales and royalties increased, driven by royalties from Alan Wake 2, revenue from FBC: Firebreak and the sales of Control which improved from the comparison period."
