Could Grand Theft Auto 6 be so big that it skips the traditional review structure? Absolutely. Rockstar can do whatever the heck they want with this thing. Because it's going to be, almost certainly, the biggest entertainment launch of all time. Across all media. Ever.
Rumors are picking up that there won't be review distribution codes for GTA 6. Meaning, those of us who might potentially get copies of the game for our homes in order to give them full playthroughs and then write about them... wouldn't do that at all. Instead, a several-day hushed-hush event (or multiple events, more realistically) would court reviewers and influencers from across the globe. Get in, play the game, get out, and write.
Brazilian journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe, who has worked for the firm responsible for Gamescom LATAM and CCXP, has recently made this statement after allegedly hearing that this is, indeed, the plan. Lippe, who goes by "PH" (Pedro Henrique) in social circles, explains that Rockstar wants maximum security to avoid last-minute leaks. Think about it, too: if this is the biggest media launch ever, then that would be the biggest media leak ever. Well. Sort of. You know what...
