Black Myth: Wukong is a fan-favorite game that did an incredible job of adapting the age-old story of Journey to the West, one of China's "Four Great Classical Novels." The 16th Century tale was written during the Ming dynasty, sometime between 1368–1644, and is traditionally attributed to Wu Cheng'en, with the video game being widely hailed for how it reinterpreted Sun Wukong's story into an original experience.
Black Myth: Wukong fans were delighted to hear that Game Science was expanding the hit action adventure game into an actual franchise, with an official sequel announced titled Black Myth: Zhong Kui that's set to introduce a new protagonist from the Journey to the West story. However, there's another recently announced game promising to take players back to the Ming Dynasty, and it has Black Myth fans scratching their heads (via Reddit).
