The design achievement is indeed impressive, but essential achievements of Banjo-Kazooie, especially regarding the ease of navigation and intuitive playability, are lost in a gigantism and a penchant for outright boastful design. As a result, Banjo-Tooie is still a great game, but one that gets in its own way far too often unnecessarily.

Ebenezer and the Invisible World is a solid game that I enjoyed. Technical minor issues take a backseat to the wealth of options Orbit Studio came up with, particularly in the ghost abilities department. It's a pity only that these diverse options hardly come to full fruition in narrative and gameplay – be it the characters and their quests or the far too long paths between areas of London.

EA Sports WRC is fundamentally a solid reboot of the long-running franchise under a new studio and engine. The races feel good and the complexity of a simulation is certainly present, so veterans will have fun. Newcomers may not be fully picked up, but should at least feel addressed thanks to the rally school.

Banjo-Kazooie is a brilliant masterpiece that, while not surpassing its predecessor Super Mario 64 in every respect—the pure game mechanics are still slightly finer in Mario—yet manages to set its own accents and standards in many areas. Banjo-Kazooie is the best collectathon and Rare's absolute crowning achievement.

Another World Mahjong Girl did not turn me into a Mahjong expert. Even by the end, I still hadn’t memorized all the possible winning hands. You also shouldn’t expect much of a story here, and the flavor text for the opponents is not particularly meaningful either. That said, I do find the character style quite appealing. In the gallery, you can view individual girls you have either recruited or defeated. You can also interact with them for reactions, although many of them are not particularly positive. After all, winning at Mahjong alone is not the same as winning someone’s heart—who would have thought?

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a very entertaining game that provided a lot of fun over approximately 20 hours. The return to old virtues was convincingly successful, although in my eyes Mirage places itself rather in the middle field of classic Assassin’s Creed games, rather than storming straight to the top.

EA Sports FC 24 is an entertaining mix of traditional football simulation and a fresh franchise start trying to break old chains. While some bugs may disrupt gameplay flow and the opposing AI appears surprisingly sluggish at times, the Career Mode offers more complexity than ever before.

The gameplay is unfortunately too weak to counter the mass of opponents tactically and deteriorates to button mashing; one lacks overview, especially when the screen zooms out and one has 30 opponents in a heap and the bosses are partly quite unfair. The pixel graphics are very pleasing to behold, but most probably can't do anything with the music.

Overall, Fate/Samurai Remnant won me over—and I can confidently recommend it even without prior knowledge of the series. The visual style appeals to me, as does the music, which suits the setting perfectly. Characters and designs mostly hit the mark. The combat system is solid, though I occasionally struggled with the timing between enemy telegraphs and attacks.

I find it really unfortunate. On its own, Ad Infinitum is not a bad game, but for me it simply falls short when it comes to its horror elements. On top of that, the gameplay can feel somewhat too shallow at times. In contrast, the story and its moral exploration of the horrors of war are genuinely well done. It is clear that the developers at Hekate put a lot of effort into this aspect. However, because of that, I can unfortunately only recommend the game to players who are specifically interested in experiencing its themes and narrative. If you are expecting a genuinely frightening and mechanically engaging horror experience, Ad Infinitum sadly leaves a lot to be desired.

Pokémon is truly fun for me again. After 'Scarlet and Violet,' I would have hardly expected that. But in the smaller format of the DLC, the disruptive factors weigh less heavily, and the individual storyline consists of fewer identical segments since it's also less open in its sequence.

Anonymous;Code is an exciting visual novel that works brilliantly both as a standalone title and as a sequel, particularly to Steins;Gate. The weaknesses of its predecessors have been ironed out and the writing is well thought out.

Overall, I enjoyed my roughly 20–25 hour journey into the year 2037. Of course, this can vary depending on how effectively one uses Hacking Trigger, or even deliberately plays toward a Game Over scenario—which I did not. The total playtime also differs depending on whether you advance text immediately after reading or wait for the voice acting to finish. This time, voice output is available not only in Japanese but also optionally in English. Personally, that was not particularly important to me, but others may certainly appreciate it. The story was engaging and entertaining, although some characters remain somewhat flat or are not given enough opportunities for deeper development. I found the musical accompaniment fitting and well-implemented. In general, I had little trouble identifying the right moments to use Hacking Trigger in order to avoid a Game Over. Near the end, there was one section I found a bit less clear, though that may simply be subjective. Even though there are some connections to other entries in the series, I feel that Anonymous;Code can also be recommended without prior knowledge of the franchise.

Ashina: The Red Witch is a pixel adventure that stands out through a fairytale atmosphere with a strong connection to Japanese ghost stories. It has an almost Ghibli-esque charm with this focus on worldbuilding.

Clive ‘N’ Wrench is a solidly designed collect-’em-all platformer that’s clearly inspired by Spyro and the Muppets, but whose level design also draws on elements from Toy Story 2, resulting, in my view, in a slightly more polished design than the Spyro games offer.

I can highly recommend Blasphemous 2 to anyone who hasn't had enough of Metroidvanias and isn't averse to a challenge. It's beautifully made, plays really well, and also offers enough room to improve without relying on experience points. And isn't it ultimately most rewarding to grow together with a game and see yourself constantly getting better?

Fluffy Milo delivers brief, enjoyable fun with sliding block puzzles. Again, cat fans should definitely take a look! But don't expect genuine brain teasers. The simple style is pleasant to behold, and Milo is just as adorable in his cubic form as Sissa.
