God is a Geek's Reviews

6 / 10.0 - Call of Cthulhu
Oct 29, 2018

A good example of a psychological thriller, and perhaps with a sequel Cyanide Studios could smooth out those rough edges and give us the Cthulhu game we deserve.

Oct 29, 2018

Despite the action on the court being fun, it's the looming frustrations of microtransactions that hinder player development and the overall appeal of the game.

Oct 26, 2018

A hardcore boss rush game with a Dark Souls flavour.

Oct 26, 2018

Nickelodeon Kart Racers is just about a passable karting game. It feels rushed and bland, meaning there's little here to inspire you for very long.

Oct 25, 2018

There was never any doubt that Red Dead Redemption 2 was going to be good, but this is something special. A masterpiece that many will be talking about for decades to come.

Oct 25, 2018

My Hero One's Justice certainly gets an A for effort but scrapes by with a C for it's working out.

Oct 24, 2018

The LEGO formula may be growing tired at this point, but LEGO DC Super-Villains is still one of the best games TT Games has produced and is an excellent use of the DC licence.

6.5 / 10.0 - Boundless
Oct 23, 2018

Boundless is a game heavy on exploration and crafting. The existence of craft able portals to other worlds extends the scope considerably, but obtuse recipes and unintuitive menus dampen the enthusiasm somewhat.

9 / 10.0 - Black Bird
Oct 23, 2018

Black Bird is one of the most interesting games I've played in a long time with loads of surprises all over the place.

Oct 23, 2018

While American Wilds doesn't add anything truly new to the Mudrunner formula, it adds enough new content to keep players busy, while also fixing a few issues.

Oct 19, 2018

Black Ops 4 is an excellent entry into the series. Some may mourn the loss of the single player campaign, but this is the tightest most balanced multiplayer the franchise has seen in a long while.

6.5 / 10.0 - Luigi's Mansion
Oct 19, 2018

Luigi's Mansion is a great place to visit, but while its presence is welcome in 2018 it really could have done with some modernisation.

The Missing is a compelling, interesting and unique horror-adventure

5.5 / 10.0 - Warriors Orochi 4
Oct 19, 2018

There's too much packed into Warriors Orochi 4 making it an over-complicated mess. It's fun at first, but you'll lose interest as the challenge wanes and you get burdened with micromanagement.

8.5 / 10.0 - SoulCalibur VI
Oct 17, 2018

The six years waiting for a new Soulcalibur game have been worth it. This is fantastic combat with plenty of depth, and even the new Reversal Edge mechanic is a godsend.

There's no denying that handheld Dark Souls is still a cool concept, but its struggling framerate makes it difficult to recommend too highly.

Oct 15, 2018

Frustrating platform elements and rote missions prevent Starlink from being as good as its promise deserves.

4 / 10.0 - Dakar 18
Oct 15, 2018

Although I applaud Bigmoon for trying to bring this niche motorsport into video games properly, the end result is awkward and feels unfinished.

The World Ends With You -Final Remix-, while still great for newcomers, should have been the definitive version of the Nintendo DS classic but it ends up being just an improved version of the mobile game with far too little new content.

8.5 / 10.0 - WWE 2K19
Oct 9, 2018

It is a massive improvement for the series, with plenty of great modes to choose from, along with so many great wrestlers past and present to wrestle with. It finally feels like things are looking up for WWE 2K.
