7 / 10.0 - NBA 2K20
Sep 30, 2019

The only mode that seems to have escaped, somewhat, the microtransactions plague, is the story, which is almost good enough to keep the game upright by itself. But it's almost good enough.

When all is said and done, we can only marvel at what Konami is doing with PES, despite being the underdog. The latest eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 is fun and great to play, and that's always what people truly want.

8 / 10.0 - GreedFall
Sep 22, 2019

GreedFall fails to achieve greatness, but it's the start of something great. With enough time and money, a sequel would be much better since all the downsides of the original are easy to address.

7 / 10.0 - Rebel Cops
Sep 22, 2019

Despite its many shortcomings, the few interesting ideas that the game brings up, as well as the beautiful art direction and surprisingly good soundtrack, save Rebel Cops from mediocrity.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses offers an incredible experience from beginning to end, although the "end" is not really the END, as the story certainly deserves to be viewed from more than one perspective.

6.5 / 10.0 - Oninaki

The game's unique world can't save it from mediocrity. However, despite its shortcomings, Tokyo RPG Factory fans who liked Lost Sphear will probably find some enjoyment, at least to some extent.

8.5 / 10.0 - Children of Morta
Sep 6, 2019

Children of Morta is one of the best rogulite games I played in a while, so I can't recommend it enough to those who love the genre. It's easy to pick up and the story, even though it's a bit on the generic side, it will keep you hooked till the end (yes, there's actually an end to the story).

8.5 / 10.0 - Control
Sep 5, 2019

The compelling story and incredibly well done combat system, along with the amazing art style and deep characterization turn Control into a trippy experience full of surprises and lots of mind-bending, Inception-like moments.

And the best part is that Man of Medan has so many choices that I can go back, and play something completely different.

So, gear up, tune up your car, rev your engines and try to make it to the finish line with a number of wheels that is higher than 1!

Ancestors is not a perfect game, and I think it could have benefited from another six months in development. But the overall scope and reach of the game make playing it worthwhile. I hope the developers will let people know more about some of the mechanics used, like the weird mini-map, because players will want to know.Weirdly, I feel ready, somehow, to be left alone in a jungle.

All in all, it is a game series that will definitely feel memorable, even if it doesn't appeal to such a wide audience like other genres.

8 / 10.0 - The Sinking City
Aug 15, 2019

Despite its shortcomings, the story and the oppressing atmosphere of The Sinking City recommend it as one of the best Lovecraft inspired game to date. If you can get past the clunky combat and technical issues, there's much to like in The Sinking City.

6 / 10.0 - Forged of Blood
Aug 12, 2019

Long story short, Forged of Blood is the best example of a project which was meant to be big but ended up being small. I wouldn't have been so disappointed if it was a "good" small rather a than "bad" small.

More so, if you're a fan of the series, don't force yourself to try it for the sake of nostalgia, as it has almost nothing "Wolfenstein-ish" left in it.

7.5 / 10.0 - The Blackout Club

Lastly, if you would like the game to look a bit more decent, you're better off buying the PC version. While the graphics may not be all that better, and improvement is an improvement.

Strictly speaking about the game, I enjoyed the atmosphere quite a lot, and the unique blend of medieval, steampunk and modern elements made the game seem quite unique. The zombie waves and the gameplay in general are extremely engaging, and combat can keep you on the edge of your seat at times, especially when you underestimate enemy forces. All in all, They are Billions is a game that definitely deserves praise, but playing it with anything other than a mouse and keyboard can be literally gamer’s Hell.
