Taken as a whole, Skyrim: Switch Edition is a mighty impressive achievement. There are some minor cutbacks that needed to be made to make it run well on the hardware, but it doesn't detract from the experience in any significant way. It's Skyrim on the go, and that alone is a monumental milestone in my book.

The Sims 4 is a relatively solid console port that provides the tools for players to create pretty much any scenario of which they could think. It won't be for everyone, but those drawn to the idea will get hours upon hours of play for their money.

DOOM suffers some undeniable downgrades in graphical fidelity on Switch, which anyone could've predicted. It's when these downgrades effect enjoyment of the game, however, that one starts to wonder if it was all worth it.

Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back is about as good as a Bubsy game can be. Unfortunately for this sloppy, cheap and noisy platformer, that's an unfathomably low bar to clear.

Strange, gorgeous and arrestingly charming, Demon Gaze II may not be a game for everyone. However, if you have a soft spot for classical 'crawlers like Wizardry or Dungeon Master, this'll likely scratch that itch, and it'll do so with a tonne of spunky Japanese verve and charisma, to boot.

High Hell is, above all else, a confident game. There isn't anything standing in the way of blasting baddies off rooftops and crashing breakneck through every door in sight, all in acid-soaked neon pink style.
