Despite its few shortcomings, Type-0 gets a lot right. It brings back the old-school charm of the series while experimenting with various new mechanics with a good degree of success.

And in case you were wondering, yes, you do get to fire a rocket launcher at the final boss. After all, it's not a Resident Evil game without that timeless weapon.

It's clear to see that the team at Tango Gameworks had some solid ideas for how inject a bit more of that eeriness that helped flesh out The Evil Within, unfortunately the game gets in the way of itself. The Assignment is a change of course that shows the developers are willing to deliver a new experience to fans, but the cost may have been a bit too high in the end.

Despite some minor issues, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is exactly what the fans of the original want and an excellent jump-on for people curious to get into the series.

Episode 3 has pushed the story of Resident Evil Revelations 2 into overdrive and there's little doubt that this is the strongest episode by far. Judgment keeps up the pace with its plot twists and breaks the action up nicely by throwing in some pretty elaborate environmental puzzles into the mix.

Sid Meier's Starships does away with all of the research tree and diplomatic hard work that often comes with a 4X title, replacing them with some brilliant turn-based strategy combat and just enough world conquering to keep any evil genius happy.

Also, you punch a gross version of the Slurm monster from Futurama in the face, and that's worth putting the money down for DmC: Devil May Cry Definitive Edition all on its own..

Aaru's Awakening is a phenomenal piece of art, and a solidly built game to boot. With numerous levels across the domains of each entity, and fierce challenges standing between players and the goal.

If Homeworld Remastered Collection were to be released now as a totally new title rather than a classic game with a polished sheen, it would be a complete revolution in strategy gaming. As it is now, Homeworld 1 & 2 stand up incredibly well to their modern contemporaries thanks to a little elbow grease and a lot of fiddling.

With that said, Contemplation certainly doesn't let up in terms of action and horror. The increased variety in enemy types and game mechanics is certainly welcome, and with the story picking up too, it will be exciting to see how the mystery unfolds.

After 10 wonderful hours with OlliOlli 2 and taking in everything the game has to offer, there's only one reason why you wouldn't buy the game on release; if you don't have a PlayStation 4 or Vita. While other games may offer a laborious grind to the end, OlliOlli 2: Welcome to Olliwood brings you a new kind of grinding that never gets old and keeps the sparks flying for hours to come.

5 / 5.0 - Oblitus
Mar 1, 2015

Oblitus puts a whole lot of content into a small, tightly-made package. The overall aesthetic and backing music are great, and the constant threat of death taking all of your accomplishments away drives play very well.

Resident Evil Revelations 2's first episode is a strong start to the game and the only fault I can find with this method of release is that the next episode can't come out soon enough. Penal Colony provided just the right amount of backstory and twists to leave the player wanting to find out what's next in the story.
