Dominion Biosyn Expansion is not perfect. It adds some new quality of life features such as hyperloop while taking away some well-placed challenges like the guests. The campaign length and new dinosaurs also make it a worthwhile experience for those who enjoy being around 60 million years old dragons; especially if you are a paleontologist turned video game critic like me!

2.8 / 5.0 - MX vs ATV Legends
Jun 28, 2022

MX vs ATV Legends is the white elephant gift for fans of good racers. Not even MX, ATV or UTV racing diehards will find anything worthwhile in this broken physics and presentation mess. Hard pass.

4.2 / 5.0 - Cotton Fantasy
Jun 26, 2022

Overall Cotton Fantasy may be a short game with average playthroughs lasting about 30-40 minutes. But with 7 characters to play as and added difficulty it definitely adds a lot of replayability and if this a taste of what the Cotton franchise will continue as then fans of this series have every right to be excited to see what comes next.

The Wonder Boy Collection is a solid retro collection that finally puts some respect on old Tom-Tom's name (and Asha's as well, for that matter). Despite some anachronistic design elements and difficulty spikes due to the earlier titles' arcade origins, all four titles included here are well worth diving into if you're a fan of classic gaming and, if nothing else, the theme song from the first title is a straight up banger.

Even as a shorter game and with limited character leveling, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is arguably the best beat-em-up and TMNT experience ages. If you have a buddy or several to tackle the forces of foot clan evil with, jump on this one.

While My Little Pony: A Maretime Bay Adventure is a relatively short game, it's the perfect length for younger gamers and as mentioned my four and a half year daughter finished the game in just a few sessions which was a proud dad gaming moment, however was eager to start it all again! The highlight of this game is that it doesn't feel like a classic cash grab of a franchise, rather, successfully creates a game for younger gamers with lots of exploration, interaction and fun gaming moments.

3 / 5.0 - Cities: VR
Jun 16, 2022

Overall I didn't have the same amount of fun I remember having with Sim City… whether that's just my tastes have changed over time or it's the way Cities: VR wants me to play a city building game, I'm not sure… but I do suspect that it's just the way Cities: VR has presented things. Some people will enjoy it… others might find the experience a bit hollow, I fall in the latter of those.

The biggest problem I have with the game is that if this was released about a decade ago I would probably have been fine with it and may even have been happy to play through it, even with the issues… but this is a remake that is supposedly bringing it up to modern standards. This does not stand as a game using modern standards of any sort… not graphics, not gameplay not general presentation. Maybe I built up my expectations too much… but I was really thoroughly disappointed with Deadly Dozen Reloaded.

I really enjoyed Out There: Oceans Of Time and would recommend it, it's not overly challenging (it's pretty easy to maintain the ship once you get the hang of it) and planetary threats are fairly easily managed… so if you prefer a tougher challenge it might not be your thing, but if you enjoy a good cosmic adventure this could be worth a look.

If you want to get into House of the Dead Remake, wait for the price to go down, which it will unless older players like me snap up copies without looking up reviews. There is simply not enough under the hood to make it worth the price of admission and let's face it, Activision collected Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1&2 together before releasing it, Dying Light and Witcher released on Switch with all DLC. This is just lazy. It was fun though, I have to add that, just not $60 worth of fun.

Mario Strikers Battle Leagues adds a few new wrinkles to the original Strikers formula, and does in a tight and well-presented package. While it may disappoint those expecting more variety and a soccer component, fans of Nintendo fighters and the attack/counterattack battle system genre will feel at home here.

4 / 5.0 - The Quarry
Jun 10, 2022

All in all, I believe Supermassive Games did a great job with The Quarry. While it doesn't offer much in terms of gameplay, the story and characters are by far the best it's been in some of the developer's recent titles and provide an experience that can even rival the spiritual predecessor, Until Dawn.
