Unscored - Far Cry 4
Nov 24, 2014

Where it lacks innovation Far Cry 4 makes up for it in quality gameplay, memorable characters and a breathtaking world begging to be explored. A worthy instalment in the series.

If you are a fan of either Batman, Superheroes or of good games in general, you owe it to yourself to pick up this game.

The first game is referred to as 'Book One' so I assume that there must be more episodes to come. Overall,  I think this game is well worth the investment of both your time and interest. It's a fresh spin on the action RPG genre and has plenty of new features to carve it's own niche. Definitely an excellent find for those of us who want to play a game that manages to be both familiar but fresh.

This War of Mine is a fun, uniquely stylish and well-written game that gives players a fresh take on an old setting and asks them to try and survive.

While there are some positives such as the murder mysteries there is not enough to make this game worth purchasing.

8.4 / 10.0 - Blackguards 2
Dec 15, 2014

Blackguards 2 is an immersive and enjoyable game, which allows a player to adjust all aspects of the game to suit their own playstyle, while constantly keeping them on their toes, as the tiniest slip-up can result in failure. Very entertaining, even for those who aren't fans of turn-based strategy.

Pokémon Alpha Sapphire looks great and is a lot of fun to play, with just the right blend of old and new, as well as a much more in-depth game environment. It does seem to be easier than the original, but overall is a very successful remake.

The fast-paced action is perfectly executed while there is enough content to last players for a long time. It is a shame that the tantalum system ruins the story mode by making it a monotonous grind.

Iron from Ice is a great start to a promising series, mixing great dialogue with important choices. Its visuals may not be up there with Telltale´s best but this is nonetheless a hugely enjoyable episode.

9 / 10.0 - Funk of Titans
Jan 9, 2015

Funk of Titans is a solid performer in all categories. It does everything right in a completely original world, but what Funk of Titans excels at is using its simple controls to make it a simple game to pick up and play and a hard game to master.

Although short, Gat Out of Hell's story is great, and makes for an enjoyable experience with its unique flying mechanics and setting. Fans of the franchise will love this, however newcomers may feel let down by its lack of real narrative.

Newcomers to Saints Row IV will love the story, gameplay and customisation, as they still stand strong from the original iteration, however a complete absence of new content will leave previous owners of Saints Row IV reluctant to purchase again. I did find the game to be an unstable, crash-prone experience, so keep that in mind if you choose to purchase.

As Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is considered to be a prologue, the game only takes about 20 minutes to complete, bringing out what we should expect in the upcoming The Phantom Pain. With the Big Boss story arc in place once again, we will inevitably know how the Patriots are built.

Resident Evil HD Remaster is just as good as the original in most ways, and in others better. Resident Evil HD feels great, looks great, and the controls are wonderfully remade for the newer systems. It can get a little hard at times figuring out your way, but that is what makes Resident Evil one of the hardest, yet most accomplished games in the series to have ever been released.

Due to the difficulty of puzzles it is hard to recommend the title to just anyone, but if you are a fan of the genre or the original release you should definitely check out the legendary adventure of Manny Calavera.
