Unravel Two is not unlike its predecessor. The added co-op adds more incentive for players to experience its charming presence.
Far Cry 3 Classic Edition does a good job reminding me both why Far Cry 3 was so loved, and how some things needed to be changed for the better. Still, it's a great game even today.
A swaggering sequel that reaches for the future as it embraces the past, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is a unique and ambivalent roleplaying experience.
While it doesn't revolutionize fighting games as a whole, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle is a fun 2D fighter sure to appeal to fans of any of the crossed-over series as well as those who just love a good match.
Rote, uninteresting and devoid of narrative pathos, Smoke and Sacrifice never compels or engages enough to offer more than a few moments of potential.
Beat Saber is an awesome VR game that should be in everyone's collection. However, a fairly limited official song collection keeps it from being as good as it possibly can be.
After a decade of waiting, Burnout's heir apparent is here. With a mix of reckless driving, team-based objectives, and just a dash of neon superpowers, Onrush is an explosive cocktail that's not to be missed.
Agony has a solid foundation, but Madmind fails to build on it in any meaningful ways. Some gorgeous visuals are bogged down by poor game design and tasteless sexual content.
Vampyr has a lot of good ideas, but its execution is sorely lacking in most areas. It is a game that is competent in terms of its systems, but ultimately fairly boring to play.
While it's disappointing that there aren't more extras, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is still an excellent museum piece for fighting game historians and would-be quarter jockeys alike.
I’ve played games that I would call “not fun” in the past. Somehow, Milanoir is a whole massive leap beyond that. My first and most overwhelming thought is that this is one of the games the devil makes you play for committing one of the seven deadly sins. I don’t know, pride maybe. The fact that so many indie games can look at Hotline Miami and pull all the wrong lessons from it continues to baffle.
Cultist Simulator won't be for everyone as the learning curve is fairly steep and it is a pretty unforgiving game. Anyone who loves puzzles, interesting games and solid narrative will find a lot to love.
Through a mixture of punishing, satisfying combat, rewarding exploration and rich visual design, Unworthy manages to overcome its minor flaws (and the stern glare of its parent genres) to deliver a deep, memorable experience for fans of hardcore action RPGs.
Moonlighter is an absolutely gorgeous adventure that tells an effective and heartwarming tale. The gameplay is top notch, even if it's a bit simplistic. Take away the launch day technical issues and you've got one top shelf production.
Wizard of Legend offers an extremely enjoyable battle system and many customization options, all presented with great pixel art and enjoyable sound design. While the lack of variety in environments and enemies is a big downside, Wizard of Legend plays like a charm and makes you want to come back for more.
Overall, Sega Genesis Classics is not a bad selection of games from the Genesis library. There's a very competent emulation of the gameplay from the original hardware. However, it lacks some key games and extras we got in past compilations, and the sound emulation is lacking.
FAR: Lone Sails is a miniature masterpiece, no less great for its compact simplicity. A must-play for anyone interested in post-apocalyptic scenarios, atmosphere-heavy games, and low-key environmental narrative.
Distant Stars has some promising new content, but most of it is locked behind the high variance that come with Stellaris map generation
Asemblance: Oversight is the kind of game for someone who enjoys ARGs and tearing a piece of art apart to understand it, and it does that well. Everyone else may have trouble finding much to care about.
While still an enjoyable game to play, Runner3 has serious balancing issues. I little bit of polish here and there would have seen frustrations turn into a lot of fun.
