Warhammer Chaosbane looks every bit like a hack and slash contender but misses too many of the nuances that make other games in the genre fun and addictive.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 feels a lot like opening a time capsule. It has so much in common with games from a decade ago that it might have been released back then. Fun moments are there to be found if you don't mind fighting a camera, frame-rate stutter and sifting through menus and load screens as you fight wave after wave of hard-hitting health sponges.

6 / 10.0 - Rage 2
May 19, 2019

Rage 2's greatest system gets bogged down by a middling experience, making for a forgettable trip through an open world that looks like it came straight out of something a decade old.

6 / 10.0 - Anthem
Feb 24, 2019

Anthem has moments that shine out and feel amazing, but you have to push through too much drudgery to reach those moments.

Turf Wars is the awkward middle child of the City That Never Sleeps story DLC. It doesn't have the initial excitement of The Heist and is more or less just a set up for the final DLC, but it's still a load of fun considering we get to jump back into the world of Spider-Man.

6 / 10.0 - The Colonists
Nov 13, 2018

The Colonists is cute and with a stronger campaign, it could have been so much better. Sadly repetitive tasks and some finicky management means that some levels feel more like a chore than a challenge as your robots fumble over themselves.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is a party game filled with fanservice and it has made peace with that. While there isn't much that's noteworthy about the game's presentation, its approach to accessibility is interesting and worth experiencing. It has managed to create its own unique experience that is worth exploring, even if it's not for everyone.

Sword Legacy Omen has some solid ideas, mechanics and graphics, but gets let down by its levelling system and an inability to undo earlier skill decisions. Some characters end up feeling like permanent fixtures, while others slowly lose their usefulness as you fight enemies with instakill abilities and far too much health. A game with a strong start that loses its way.

6 / 10.0 - Sleep Tight
Jul 25, 2018

Lack of variety is this cute tower defence game's ultimate downfall. It builds a very solid foundation of what could have been an incredible game but falls very short in its objectives. You'll grow tired of it during your first few nights as you fight off cute monsters in your bedroom. It's still an endearing game despite its flaws and may be worth it on a sale sometime, but don't expect your pillows to explode from this.

6 / 10.0 - The Mooseman

This game plays out like a storybook and while it won't satisfy most gamers, those who like to read will enjoy the tale.

6 / 10.0 - Venture Kid
May 28, 2019

Due to its style and a healthy dose of that "good old nostalgia" Venture Kid feels at times like it is perfect for the Switch. Made by fans for fans it's a game that will likely appeal to those who enjoy the retro action platforming genre. Unfortunately, tight controls and extra modes aside, you're mostly left feeling that this game is lacking that something truly special.

6 / 10.0 - Moonlighter

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.

6 / 10.0 - Trailblazers

Taking what made Splatoon so popular and combining it with level design of F-Zero makes it sound like a dream, but it, unfortunately, misses the mark. With a bit of AI tweaking and varied weapons, this could be a much better experience. For now the splash of colour won't hold your interest.

Devil May Cry was once the pinnacle of action games, but 2001 is 17 years ago. Back then we had no smartphones, no Twitter, no Youtube, no Facebook and barely had online gaming. In gaming years it's ancient and should perhaps remain in the past. We have a new demon slayer and her name is Bayonetta.

Gravel takes a fun experience and makes it feel dull with lacklustre AI and a vehicle unlock system that removes any joy from getting a new car.

6 / 10.0 - Doom VFR

Doom VFR is a fun but a short experience that comes bundled with debatable controller options and level layouts you would have experienced in the 2016 classic over a year ago.

Whether you're looking for 5 minutes of brain bending challenges or just some academic fun, Dr Kawashima's Devilish Brain Training may be the game for you. It does take a long time to unlock all the content, but when you do, you're spoiled for choice.

6 / 10.0 - Agents of Mayhem
Aug 20, 2017

When you begin to parody, you run the risk of becoming the joke yourself. While Volition mastered this, they, unfortunately, missed the mark with Agents of Mayhem. There's a lot of fun to be had here but the game itself doesn't seem to want you to have it. If you can head into Agents of Mayhem only wanting solid gameplay with some interesting characters, you're good to go. Anything more will bring mayhem to the experience.

Star Wars Battlefront II suffers from not knowing where it wants to spend its time and resources. It tries to cover too many time periods and too many battles and ends up boxing itself in a corner due to a tie in with a movie that only releases in a month's time.
