Nintendo Switch Sports is the successor we’ve all been waiting for and it’s better than what we remember with Wii Sports. With an online mode and ranking system there is more of a reason to play this game for even more hours. Even though it’s still missing some sports, we wouldn’t be surprised to see more updates for the game.
KAKU: Ancient Seal is a tale of courage, discovery, and the enduring spirit of a young hero and his loyal companion. It is a journey through a world steeped in mystery and magic, where the stakes are nothing less than the restoration of a world torn apart by ancient forces. As Kaku inches closer to the truth, he realizes that his quest is not just about reuniting elemental souls but about understanding his place in a world that is both ancient and ever-changing.
Hot Blood is a decent game for a bit of casual fun, especially if you enjoy the aesthetic and humor. But don’t expect it to hold your attention for long if you’re looking for something with more substance and polish.
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble is another classic game in the series with plenty of replay value. It features a large online mode, which, while not hugely impressive, is a nice addition.
Beyond Good & Evil – 20th Anniversary Edition is a tribute to the enduring appeal of a game that has left a significant mark on the action-adventure genre. While the remastered 4K graphics may not be as striking due to the game’s unique art style, the improved performance at 60FPS is a welcome enhancement. Coupled with a captivating story and thoughtful new additions like the speedrun mode, updated achievements, and the anniversary gallery, this edition is a fitting tribute to a beloved classic.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD is a love letter to the franchise’s devoted fanbase, capturing the essence and charm that have defined Luigi’s Mansion games since their inception. It stays true to the core gameplay mechanics that fans adore, blending puzzle-solving, ghost-hunting, and lighthearted humor in a way that feels both nostalgic and fresh. The HD remaster enhances the visual and audio experience, breathing new life into the game’s atmospheric environments and spooky settings. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to the series, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD offers a delightful and immersive adventure that pays homage to the beloved original while delivering a polished and engaging experience.
Finding your way out of an abandoned asylum is always frightening, especially when an unexplained killer is hunting you. The puzzles are challenging and you are constantly on your toes because the enemy is lurking. Unfortunately, the complexity makes gameplay frustrating and the game isn’t long. For a short horror room experience, this game delivers a satisfying experience.
Teeny Tiny Trains is a true railway romp that keeps you chugging along with glee. As the conductor of your very own miniature railway empire, you’ll find yourself hooked from the moment you hop on board. The strategic planning and clever puzzle-solving required to keep your trains from colliding and reaching their destinations smoothly make for an engaging and delightful locomotive adventure.
Although a Remake, This version retains the core elements that made the original a classic, while introducing new content and enhancements that elevate the adventure to new heights. Riven remains an artistic masterpiece and a puzzle adventure game that still holds up and can compete and beat out even some of the newest titles of its genre.
Still Wakes The Deep sets a high benchmark in atmospheric horror, combining stellar storytelling, immersive gameplay, and top-notch audio-visual design. It captures the essence of fear and survival, offering a harrowing yet emotionally resonant experience. Whether you’re a fan of horror games or narrative-driven adventures, Still Wakes The Deep is a must-play, showcasing The Chinese Room’s exceptional ability to create captivating and unforgettable gaming experiences.
Tsukihime – A piece of blue glass moon – has brought a beloved classic visual novel to a new generation of gamers. It has made significant strides in presentation and content, despite only being a partial remake. Type-Moon’s ability to craft engaging and immersive narratives continues to show with this piece of work.
Well, Sociable Soccer 24 is marketed as a fast-paced, fun, easy-to-grasp, and hard-to-master game that promises to keep players entertained for hours, it falls short of delivering on these promises. Although it might provide some brief enjoyment, the lack of challenge, combined with numerous other issues, renders the game unappealing. I wouldn’t even consider purchasing it as part of a Humble Bundle. In fact, it feels more like a bargain bin game from the early ’90s found at Walmart, lacking the quality and depth expected from modern titles.
While the game is pretty simple, it does its job at being a simple and relaxing puzzle game decently well, I’d say not only because of the puzzle mechanics being a bit different with the sliding on ice in Shivering Stone, but because of the graphics being much higher quality, I’d prefer to play Shivering Stone over Glyphs of Gitzan, however Glyphs of Gitzan is still a puzzle game that’s worth playing and taking a look at.
XDefiant is an average first-person shooter at best. It's not like we haven't seen a shooter like this before. As of now, there is nothing that I can see that sets it apart from other established first-person shooters.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance stands as the ultimate version of an already exceptional game, delivering a rich and expanded experience for both new and returning players. With its new storyline path, expanded demon roster, enhanced gameplay mechanics, and increased level cap, it offers a fresh and engaging journey through a world of angels and demons. The added strategic depth through innate and Magatsuhi skills, along with the increased challenge from new difficulty modes, ensures that players will find plenty of reasons to dive back into the game’s dark and captivating universe. Whether it be a gripping new quest for Vengeance or the classic saga of creation and destruction, Vengeance promises an immersive and rewarding adventure that redefines the Shin Megami Tensei V experience.
The Monster Hunter gameplay with the added Pokemon style of collecting monsters and building a well-rounded team to help you along the way is an excellent way to experience the Monster Hunter franchise that I think is easily accessible as well to those that are put off by the more hectic and less forgiving nature of Monster Hunter in general. If you are a fan of Monster Hunter or even turn-based RPGs in general, I think Monster Hunter Stories 2 will be an excellent addition to your library.
Monster Hunter Stories provides a more casual alternative to the main series, offering accessible gameplay without losing the captivating storytelling, excitement, and charm that define the Monster Hunter franchise. If you’re a fan of Monster Hunter or just a fan of turn-based RPGs, you’re going to love the game a lot. However, it’s clear that Monster Hunter Stories offers a different experience, focusing more on narrative and strategic planning rather than the intense, high-stakes hunts that define the main series. While it might not reach the same level of complexity or challenge as the main games, it stands out as a delightful and engaging spin-off that enriches the Monster Hunter universe.
Crime Boss: Rockay City is an amazing game for fans of organized crime games and first-person shooters. Its compelling story, diverse gameplay mechanics, and robust multiplayer options create an immersive and thrilling gaming experience. Whether playing solo or with friends, climbing to the top of Rockay City’s criminal hierarchy is an adventure worth undertaking.
Overall, for a budget game (and one that seems before the enhanced edition was constantly on sale for less the $4), the game’s main gameplay mechanics as well as it’s graphics are more than I was expecting. However, I wish the developers spent more time on the story behind the game, as It feels like a puzzle missing a piece, and impossible to put the story together. With the lack of story, the game can also feel very repetitive. While affordable, I probably wouldn’t recommend the game even at its low price point, which is sad as I think with a better story this game could be really amazing.
Rewinding time and fighting with remnants from your recent past is exciting. There’s a clear progression that doesn’t make a challenge too difficult or impossible. Replaying your challenges is also enjoyable. However, there isn’t an obvious reason to gather collectibles or clear time challenges. The Switch also has notable frame drops throughout the experience. A solid experience but not the action-packed adventure one might hope for.
