9 / 10.0 - Skyworld
Mar 26, 2019

With a near perfect VR implementation and great presentation, Skyworld is a great experience. It has deep gameplay systems that all hinge on each other to create a layered gameplay experience that is easy and fun to play.

Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel is a sprawling epic of a game. With satisfying combat, incredibly well defined characters, and enough story to satisfy the most demanding visual novel fan, Trails of Cold Steel has earned its place in the JRPG Hall of Fame. It's time to call it like it is: Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel is a classic.

7 / 10.0 - War Theatre
Mar 25, 2019

Excellent turn-based strategy game, highly reminiscent to Advance Wars. Beautiful, highly detailed artwork that can sometimes be too 'busy' for the eye. Interesting storyline and world building that I want to see more of in the future. All told, a game that will absolutely lull you into playing 'just one more turn'.

Luffy's charm really helps sell this game, with the open world being quite beautiful at times. But some issues with the combat, lack of Straw Hats interacting with the world, and the lock on system being a pain during some fights gives this enough flaws that some folks might not be able to ignore.

9 / 10.0 - The Messenger
Mar 22, 2019

Resolutely challenging without ever being unfair, frequently gut-bustingly humorous and stuffed with all manner of unexpected twists and turns, The Messenger one of the most essential platformers on PS4. It really is that simple.

An ultimately conservative though meaningful improvement upon the previous Division title in every way, Tom Clancy's The Division 2 stands as a sterling third-person loot shooter experience that is best enjoyed with friends and is one which plays host to an evocative setting that lingers in the memory.

7.5 / 10.0 - Beat Cop
Mar 14, 2019

Much like the setting that inspires it, Beat Cop is crass, dirty and morally reprehensible at times. Though it certainly isn't for everybody, there is a certain attraction that Beat Cop exudes which has you coming back, time and again, to its grimly framed world of corrupt cops, jobsworth toil and pressure-based strategy.

3 / 10.0 - Left Alive
Mar 13, 2019

The sort of crushing disappointment that only comes around once in a while, Left Alive feels like an emaciated, innovation bereft meditation on Metal Gear Solid and in matching up so poorly with its inspiration, provides the Front Mission franchise with arguably its weakest entry in years.

Beautiful visuals and a cool gesture-based magic system can't save The Wizards: Enhanced Edition from an inscrutable progression system and some dire technical issues. Fantasy fans will find some enjoyment from the puzzles and the fun narrator, but some strange design decisions end up kneecapping the experience.

Oozing heart, wit, charm and adventure from every digital pore, Ghost of a Tale is a beautifully crafted and warmly affecting adventure that deserves a place in the collections of PS4 owners everywhere.

8 / 10.0 - RICO
Mar 11, 2019

A fiendishly compelling re-imagining of the gun-toting cop shows of yore, RICO is an effortlessly playable, highly enjoyable and deceptively clever roguelike FPS that is at it's very best when enjoyed with friends.

7.5 / 10.0 - Devil May Cry 5
Mar 6, 2019

Devil May Cry V is the game fans have been waiting for, for better or for worse. It's not the best in the franchise but it's a welcome and stylish return to the original Devil May Cry saga.

6 / 10.0 - The Occupation
Mar 5, 2019

A superb, smart and taut detective thriller lay beneath the stack of technical and design issues that The Occupation has, it's just a shame that, in its current form at least, those shortcomings are at the forefront of the experience.

8 / 10.0 - Deponia Doomsday
Mar 3, 2019

A funny, silly temporal romp that is well made and well executed. Any fan of point-and-click games will enjoy Deponia Doomsday. It has a light-hearted, comedic storyline that is well written and well performed. The art style is lovely and the game performs to perfection on a technical level.

8.5 / 10.0 - Dead or Alive 6

Dead or Alive 6 is the first great fighter of the year. It proves that once you strip the "fan service" away, you see how deep and masterful the core combat can truly be.

Full of fun characters and unique presents to unwrap, the classic Sega Genesis game feels as unique as ever in Back in the Groove, and is well worth a trip back for older fans of the series. Newcomers can also look forward to finding out what made ToeJam & Earl so popular.

3.5 / 10.0 - Fimbul
Feb 28, 2019

Though the setting is evocative, the poor combat, raft of bugs and meagre duration all conspire to ensure that Fimbul fumbles its setting and results in disappointingly poor roaming brawler.

6 / 10.0 - Massira
Feb 27, 2019

Massira offers up nothing for an adult looking for a new narrative-adventure game to sink their teeth into. It's narrative is intriguing but has no payoff and its gameplay is bland and, at times, poorly designed. However, if you have a child, sit down with them and play Massira for a few hours. The game will give them an insight into the Syrian Refugee Crisis in an approachable and kid-friendly way.

7 / 10.0 - Anthem
Feb 26, 2019

Anthem may never get the chance to live up to its potential due to a series of unfortunate game design decisions and issues. The first IP from BioWare in over ten years displays moments of grandeur with fun and unique gameplay that unfortunately is undermined by the game's current condition.

6.5 / 10.0 - Dick Wilde

Dick Wilde 2 is a fun rail shooter with excellent controls and a beautiful art-style. Sadly unless you are desperate to play something on PSVR, or love rail shooters, Dick Wilde 2 is regretable skippable.
