My initial review upon finishing the game consisted of 3 words – BUY THIS NOW. Sadly though I don’t think that would have been published so I’ve tried to explain why I thought that in the words in the review. I’ve played quite a few games in my 46 years on the planet and this one is one of the best.
Considering Blue Isle Studios previous game was Slender: The Arrival, this isn't what I was expecting from this game
When I started playing Armikrog I didn't know what to expect, and I've always said that when going into games that I have no knowledge about other than some screenshots, I should expect the unexpected, and I have to admit, that is exactly what I got.
I wanted to like this game, I really did. I have fond memories of the 'Bullet Hell' genre.........Galaga, Raiden, 1943-Battle of Midway and R-Type to name a few that I've enjoyed over the years.
Can you save humanity from a post apocalyptic world by using..... a train?
Earth has been invaded by a perverse race of bio-mechanical beings from outer-space known as Zeetnuks. A group of humans organize themselves to resist the invasion, but soon discover they don’t stand any chance against the enemy’s technological superiority.
The first time that I got to see this game was at EGX 2015 when it was there being showcased and I was very impressed with what I saw. Nearly a year later and I am having the privilege of being able to play the game, and I have to admit that the game starts as it means to go on.
I have always enjoyed NHL games, I like Ice Hockey as a sport, I have just never really understood the rules etc. Which I think it why I like to play NHL games, as it lets me play a sport I like while learning about it.
FIFA 17 is improved on by the new mode - The Journey. This is the big addition this year and it has gone down a treat, it has a good story to it, and is worth playing. But the changes and poor impact engine let it down massively
People who like the game will love it, but Won't convince gamers to return to the game.
A Fantastic game and another wonderful entry into the series.
After narrowly escaping an attack on their village, JD Fenix and his friends, Kait and Del, must rescue the ones they love and discover the source of a monstrous new enemy.
Graphically the game is stunning, however the glitches that are blindingly obvious cannot be ignored.
Wonderful graphics and smooth gameplay.
Beautiful graphics and the atmosphere and intensity that war brings all in one game!
Give it a try, I think you just might be surprised.
Overall the game is wonderful and I am having an absolute blast playing it. The single player is a wonderful addition and with the beautifully told narrative it is a joy to play.
Unfortunately, I am not sure as to whether or not I would recommend the game or not. I think this is more of a Marmite type game, if you're into this genre, then you are going to love it, however, if you are unsure or not really played this genre before, then I have a feeling that 90% would probably not enjoy it.
I have to be honest, for a first play through, I didn’t expect to clock the 80+ hours in the game, I haven’t been this invested in a game for a long time, and it has been such a nice change of pace to be engrossed in just one game and play through it. However saying that, there is no excuse for the glitches and problems that are in the game. Skyrim gets an 8/10.
As a debut console title, React Games has made a title that I'm struggling to recommend. The lack of any real progression, the stale environments and the iffy controls make for a disappointing experience.
