Shadow of Loot Box is based on an interesting premise that intends to satirize some questionable elements of the contemporary games industry. The problem is this idea does not quite come to fruition and after a promising opening stage, the experience quickly comes down to a dull, over-simplistic, underperforming gameplay and in the end, this FPS with RPG elements turns out to be a rather lacklustre effort with few attractive points.

Pantsu Hunter: Back to the 90s has some good intentions but while it does a competent job at creating a nostalgic environment, its gameplay experience feels rather poor and uninteresting, mostly due to its dull puzzles and sub-par structure. This is a pity, as the game clearly has ideas that could have brought it further but the way they were implemented simply does not lead Pantsu Hunter to a memorable or remarkable threshold.

FIFA 20: Legacy Edition is not a game - it's an update of a good game, an update which brings the necessary yearly changes regarding squads and jerseys...but nothing more. This would matter less if FIFA 2020: Legacy Edition was not being sold at the price of a regular game, but it is. EA is not treating players with respect and this formula does not deserve to be purchased, let alone at full price.

Warlocks 2: God Slayers sets itself on an ambitious path which many players will quickly feel attracted to. The problem is, for all its quality animations and well-written dialogues, Warlocks II simply does not play well enough to provide a memorable, enjoyable experience. Adding to all its gameplay flaws a very inconvenient and unchangeable control system, the result is a game that simply serves nobody's tastes and will only disappoint who will expect something from it.

4 / 10 - Bird Game +
Jun 30, 2019

Bird Game + looks unique and its art style stands out but it doesn't quite do everything the way it should. The overall experience is too short, the difficulty level gets frustrating too quickly and while the art style is worth praising, it can interfere with the gameplay at some points. Overall, Bird Game + will disappoint the players who pick it up, with emphasis on fans of the fly'em up style.

Warplanes: WW2 Dogfight tries to fill in a gap in the Nintendo Switch catalogue when it comes to aerial combat games. While it provides a good amount of aircraft and missions to fulfill, the overall experience is very disappointing: its heavy and clunky gameplay feels very removed from what the game is supposed to deliver and its sub-par visual environment, not to mention almost absent audio component, make this an effort that is better left outside the radar of all but the most hardcore and needy aerial combat fans.

RIOT - Civil Unrest pits the player in the midst of scenes of violent urban confrontations based on real life events and is worthy of praise for introducing such an unusual premise. When it comes to execution, though, RIOT is less likely to impress, especially when it comes to its control system and to problems when assessing the most relevant elements on the screen. The promise of future updates can sort out some of the game's flaws but until then, this is a title that's very difficult to recommend.

4 / 10 - Hover
Dec 31, 2018

Hover could have been something more ambitious, thanks to its concept and interesting art style. Unfortunately its flaws and errors end up making this a repetitive and lacklustre experience, with the game's framerate problems, camera issues and tiresome navigation adding up to Hover's shortcomings.

Moonfall Ultimate is a 2D hack and slash that draws inspiration from a wide variety of games, including several not necessarily of its genre. Unfortunately it doesn't manage to reach an even remotely comparable level to any of them, and despite a decent plot, Moonfall Ultimate has very little to go for it when it comes to gameplay mechanics, combat experience and overall involvement of the player.

Unfortunately it ends up being a lot less memorable and significant, due to a rather generic audiovisual component and to its simplistic combat system, which does not try to make this experience any more poignant or worthy of praise.

Devious Dungeon thus ends up being a very unremarkable game without any features that could keep the players interested for more than a few minutes.

4 / 10 - Time Carnage
Nov 5, 2018

Time Carnage is far from being an example for other games - due to its repetitive, uninspired nature and dull gameplay, Time Carnage ends up not providing the players with any reasons to enjoy the experience and the result is a game that is easily avoided and whose only main quality is being correctly organized and without bugs.

Castle of Heart is a good example on why one shouldn't judge a book by its cover: while its visuals look rather appealing, the game's experience quickly becomes an ordeal once the gameplay begins. Due to poor level design, controls that feel very clunky (though in line with the game's premise) and a difficulty level that is frustrating but not challenging, Castle of Heart missed a good opportunity to be an enjoyable experience.

Midnight Deluxe might not have the most common concept but its competent control systems and visual environment will help bridging that. Unfortunately its experience never feels completely right, as its difficulty level is too forced on the player and the game becomes repetitive all too quickly and will have a hard time in motivating its players to keep trying.

Paper Wars: Cannon Fodder Devastated intends to be an evolution of the original game but the overall result falls short of that objective. While its gameplay is competent and the art style is rather original, the game quickly becomes too repetitive with its recycled content, its soundtrack quickly becomes something to ignore and its sale price makes it difficult to recommend.

4 / 10 - Hollow
May 15, 2018

Hollow tries to break into the circle of horror games for the Nintendo Switch, which has been growing considerably over the months. While Hollow does a good job at presenting the right atmosphere for a horror game, it loses its potential when it comes to the actual gameplay, which feels heavy and slow and the experience suffers from several technical issues and bugs that make it more difficult to enjoy.

4 / 10 - Mad Carnage
Mar 12, 2018

Mad Carnage is a tactical action game in a cartoonish visual style which can be entertaining for a while but quickly starts feeling repetitive as it is way too similar to other proposals in the same genre. Its gameplay mechanics feel too simplistic and there's an overall lack of variety that ends up harming what could have been a more enjoyable and refined experience.

Fantasy Hero ~unsigned legacy~ features some interesting progression mechanisms and its characters offer some development potential but unfortunately, the action quickly gets dull and repetitive. Adding to this, the game's overall audiovisual component is clearly dated and there are several bugs and errors that make this game something difficult to recommend.

4 / 10 - ACORN Tactics
Jan 5, 2018

ACORN Tactics may start with the promise of becoming something enjoyable within the strategy genre in the Nintendo Switch catalog but unfortunately it doesn't live up to what it could be. Too slow during combat, very shallow in its mechanics and lacking feedback in crucial points, ACORN Tactics falls short of players' expectations and fails to deliver what is today taken for granted by most.

Squareboy vs Bullies: Arena Edition has its origins in the mobile segment, where most games are very simple to play. This does not mean that those traits have to remain the same when the game is converted to a games' console. Squareboy vs Bullies: Arena Edition for the 3DS is too close to its mobile origins for its own sake, featuring generic levels, little originality and a too short lifespan that will not captivate the players for long enough.
