9 / 10.0 - 20XX

20XX is a fantasic title and shows that the classic formula of Mega Man games still works. Stop reading and go play it now!

4.5 / 10.0 - Rainbow Skies
Jul 31, 2018

Done before and done better, Rainbow Skies is a game that has taken a fairly bland concept to begin with and proceeded to not change a thing about it. If you're looking for an epic tale of heroes and rogues, you'd be better off looking elsewhere.

7 / 10.0 - Raging Justice
Jul 30, 2018

Overall Raging Justice should please fans of the genre and although it doesn't modernise beat 'em ups in any meaningful way, there is still a lot of fun to be had.

5 / 10.0 - The Crew 2
Jul 28, 2018

A great driving game, a poor racing game. Has some technical issues involving controller support and their idea of multiplayer is somewhat unusual for this genre. A game I would happily spend more time with, but can't recommend highly in its current state.

New Gundam Breaker is a good concept, shoddily put together. The story is a trope-fest, battles are confusing and the masses of text are hard to read. There are so few positive points it's not funny.

7.5 / 10.0 - Happy Birthdays
Jul 18, 2018

If you enjoy the god sim/sandbox genres you will be in for a treat with this title. Graphically, the game is adorable with some really lovely character models and landscapes but this game is so much more than cute dinosaurs and sweet looking lizards! Underneath it all is a surprisingly fun and addictive game with a huge amount of depth and replayability. A must have game for fans of the genre.

If you're a veteran strategy guy up for a challenge, then The Spatials: Galactology could be right up your street. Otherwise, it's a hard sell. Some of the issues make me think that it might have benefitted from a little longer in Early Access.

3 / 10.0 - Bullet Witch
Jul 17, 2018

Despite a few neat gameplay touches Bullet Witch ultimately fails to impress and this remaster only goes to show that this game should have stayed in the past. What could have been an interesting third-person shooter is let down at almost every point by frustrating game design and bland level design.

Playing this game is like playing four different games of varying quality. If they'd just stuck to one idea and executed it well, this could have been a winner. As it is, sadly this is a game which is a jack of all trades but master of none.

3 / 10.0 - Bouncy Bob
Jul 13, 2018

I can't think of a single redeeming feature about this game. It's about as entertaining as a night out in Milton Keynes. Poor controls, lazy graphics, very little gameplay and everything is just a long, drawn out frustratio

5.5 / 10.0 - FOX n FORESTS
Jul 13, 2018

FOX n FORESTS is a game with a few really great things going for it - including its charming story and mostly clever level design that puts its clever season-changing mechanic to good use. Unfortunately, a few aggressive flaws quickly sap the fun out of the entire experience, including forced backtracking; annoying one-hit-kill autoscrollers out of nowhere; and its overall short playtime. It's difficult to recommend the game overall, but it might be worth it for hardcore retro platformer fans.

A worthy (and free) successor to Life is Strange, and an intriguing teaser for the full sequel. Dontnod have improved on most accounts and look to draw in new fans with this prologue.

8.5 / 10.0 - Vandals
Jul 8, 2018

With perfectly crafted levels and an awesome electronic soundtrack, Vandals proves to be a great entry into the turn-based stealth genre. In many ways, it captures the sensation of what painting at night feels like.

Super Mega Baseball 2 brings out the best in what baseball games have to offer. An over-the-top, fun sports title that focuses on entertaining rather than realism, this is one is definitely worth checking out.

A stealth apocalypse game that stays takes some liberties with its setting, but brings it all together with strong mechanics that keep the player feeling vulnerable.

8.5 / 10.0 - Wizard of Legend
Jul 5, 2018

Wizard of Legend is a welcome addition to the library of procedurally generated roguelikes, offering players a challenging arena-based dungeon crawler with unforgiving combat and a vast number of abilities to choose from. Occasional performance niggles can ruin the experience, but they are few and far between.

Supposedly Wonderful Future has left me considering the events of the game, and whether my moral choices make me a monster or a model citizen. It doesn't really do much wrong, but if you didn't like point-and-click games with a heavy amount of text before, you won't enjoy them after, either.

8 / 10.0 - Copy Kitty
Jul 3, 2018

With a bit more polish, Copy Kitty would stand the test of time like the games it sets out to emulate. But despite its flaws, it's a strong title that uses its desire to emulate overall better experiences to create something unique, interesting, and most of all, enjoyable. If you're willing to overlook its flaws, Copy Kitty is well worth a look.

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn manages to do things at such a basic level that it numbs us to the idea of anything entertaining happening ever. A product from the past that lacks in every department, one has to wonder why they even bothered?
