6.5 / 10.0 - Aquarist
Nov 14, 2022

Aquarist on the Nintendo Switch is a pleasant and relaxing aquarium simulator with clunky controls, bad visuals, and an overall lack of story context. If you're in the mood for something like it, I recommend being very cautious or just playing the PC version instead.

Though Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord provides a fun outlet with its battles and the strategies you can employ within them, everything else is lacking in comparison. You might get a solid 5-10 hours of enjoyment out of the campaign before you it dawns on you that there's not much else to discover but a disappointing realisation.

8 / 10.0 - Robo Legend
Nov 10, 2022

Robo Legend is an RPG mixed with a twin-stick shooter that has you choosing if you want to be the hero of the story or the villain. With multiple endings, it's nice to see a game where your choices make a difference!

While the single-player offering is a little muddled and often confused regarding what exactly it wants to portray; the multiplayer is otherwise a straightforward and enjoyable experience, even if it's currently riddled with minor connectivity issues.

7 / 10.0 - Chaos;Child
Nov 5, 2022

Chaos;Child was a bit of a disappointment for me. I enjoyed its improvements, but the previous game did things in a more interesting way, as it was all new to me. So having problems reappear while new ones came to light didn't convince me that this was a worthwhile sequel.

4 / 10.0 - The Last Oricru
Nov 3, 2022

The Last Oricru can be terrible in some parts, but when it's good, it's delightful - though, I can't recommend it outside of its co-op elements, and I'd avoid it as a single-player title overall.

Short enough to warrant multiple playthroughs, although some of the storylines aren't quite as well-written as others, Unknown Number is an interesting title that will have puzzle fans jotting down notes and shouting into their PCs to solve some real headscratchers!

A few changes here and there improve Football Manager 2023 much more than I'd anticipated. It's still the same deeply engrossing sim that you know and love, but with a few extra bells and whistles to keep the fans happy.

Video Game Fables Nightmare Arena DLC is a fun addition to the base game, especially the inclusion of stickers. If you don't enjoy the turn-based battle system of the original game, this DLC will not interest you.

7.5 / 10.0 - Chaos;Head Noah
Nov 1, 2022

The team behind Chaos;Head Noah, did a fine job doing what they set out to do, but confusing choices surrounding their game's interactivity and accessibility features aren't enough to save its gorgeous animation or strong plot and characters.

8.5 / 10.0 - Overhaul
Nov 1, 2022

Overhaul is a unique Sudoku-like puzzle experience mixed with roguelite elements that I thoroughly enjoyed; this is a must-try title if the number-based mechanic doesn't deter you.

10 / 10.0 - Ghost Song
Oct 31, 2022

Ghost Song is the perfect mix of Metroid and Hollow Knight, creating a gorgeous-looking game full of exploration, a great story, and a creepy atmosphere. If you like Metroidvania-style games, make sure you check out this title!

After 12 long years, Trails from Zero is a classic RPG that was worth the wait. Fantastic characters, world building, and fun combat create another game in the franchise that will appeal to long time fans and newcomers alike.

7 / 10.0 - In Retrospect
Oct 29, 2022

In Retrospect is a short and challenging endless runner that makes you think about your life and the things that are important to you. It's a bit tricky to collect only the tokens you want to focus on, so it may take multiple playthroughs to get the desired result.

7 / 10.0 - Trifox
Oct 28, 2022

Trifox is an interesting mix of a 3D platformer and twin-stick shooters with a unique skill tree system that allows you to make your own loadouts. The pacing felt slow, and there isn't much of a story here.

Lovecraft's Untold Stories 2 has a bumpy start, but once you've surpassed that hiccup, it becomes a very decent game; you'll just have to endure an hour or two of learning things.

Terror of Hemasaurus is a beautiful and entertaining game with tons of satisfying destruction and chaos. It also tries to teach a very important message about climate change and how the human race has to act before it is too late.

6.5 / 10.0 - Signalis

I can confidently recommend SIGNALIS for its puzzle element, but its combat, inventory, and sound design manage to bog it down to a merely okay title.

The Winters' Expansion is a beautiful extension of what Village already has, offering plenty of new ways to have fun, whether that means making the base game easier or getting to punch everyone in the face as Chris Redfield. But the real tour de force here is Shadows of Rose, a storyline that offers a more psychological style of horror than the franchise usually plays in and is worth every penny.

8.5 / 10.0 - Victoria 3

If you'd like a chance to lead millions and create a nation to rival all others, then this is the game for you. Just be careful what you wish for. The role of a leader can be fickle and overwhelming at times.
