8 / 10.0 - The Long Reach
Aug 12, 2018

A deeply layered story with the scares to match, The Long Reach brings back the basics of psychological-horror by keeping players both intrigued and nervous until the very end.

ElisaDS

A nice slice of life visual novel with some slightly dark undertones. If you're interested in following this group of Chuutsosu as they figure out their lot in life, it's worth a look.

7.5 / 10.0 - Cycle 28
Aug 12, 2018

A fun little momentum shooter with a drab visual style that is perfect for quick bouts of play. The difficulty and repeat play design won't be for everyone but if you are after a Luftrausers-esque title at a budget price you can't go wrong.

7 / 10.0 - We Happy Few
Aug 11, 2018

Aside from the immersive introduction, We Happy Few eventually becomes a chore more than an intense survival experience. One had only hoped, that the game became a linear experience akin to BioShock than the tacked on survival game it really is.

7.5 / 10.0 - Danger Zone 2
Aug 11, 2018

A great improvement over the original that almost nails the aesthetic and feel of the games it lovingly recreates even if it is a little rough around the edges. For those yearning for Burnout's Crash mode or that just enjoy score attack games there is a lot to enjoy here!

6.5 / 10.0 - MXGP Pro
Aug 8, 2018

MXGP PRO is a fun Motocross racing sim with deep levels of customisation but is let down by some odd physics, a steep learning curve and it's similarity to the previous entry into the MXGP series: MXGP 3. If you are a diehard Motocross fan, this game is for you, but for the casual gamer, MXGP PRO probably won't be dynamic enough to hold your attention for long.

8 / 10.0 - Forgotton Anne
Aug 7, 2018

The story won't shock and disturb you as much as Game of Thrones might, but it's a story anyone can engage with. It'll even have you reeling in genuine grief when you've distilled an old sock.

9 / 10.0 - Dead Cells
Aug 6, 2018

A beautiful, challenging game that is supremely polished in every area. A fantastic blend of tactical combat mixed with metroidvania style progression. Combined with an interesting and very quirky setting makes it a compelling package overall.

A great little pair of puzzle games here. Nothing new for owners of the iOS and Android versions, but if you don't already have them, this is definitely worth a play.

9 / 10.0 - 20XX

20XX is a fantasic title and shows that the classic formula of Mega Man games still works. Stop reading and go play it now!

4.5 / 10.0 - Rainbow Skies
Jul 31, 2018

Done before and done better, Rainbow Skies is a game that has taken a fairly bland concept to begin with and proceeded to not change a thing about it. If you're looking for an epic tale of heroes and rogues, you'd be better off looking elsewhere.

7 / 10.0 - Raging Justice
Jul 30, 2018

Overall Raging Justice should please fans of the genre and although it doesn't modernise beat 'em ups in any meaningful way, there is still a lot of fun to be had.

5 / 10.0 - The Crew 2
Jul 28, 2018

A great driving game, a poor racing game. Has some technical issues involving controller support and their idea of multiplayer is somewhat unusual for this genre. A game I would happily spend more time with, but can't recommend highly in its current state.

New Gundam Breaker is a good concept, shoddily put together. The story is a trope-fest, battles are confusing and the masses of text are hard to read. There are so few positive points it's not funny.

7.5 / 10.0 - Happy Birthdays
Jul 18, 2018

If you enjoy the god sim/sandbox genres you will be in for a treat with this title. Graphically, the game is adorable with some really lovely character models and landscapes but this game is so much more than cute dinosaurs and sweet looking lizards! Underneath it all is a surprisingly fun and addictive game with a huge amount of depth and replayability. A must have game for fans of the genre.

If you're a veteran strategy guy up for a challenge, then The Spatials: Galactology could be right up your street. Otherwise, it's a hard sell. Some of the issues make me think that it might have benefitted from a little longer in Early Access.

3 / 10.0 - Bullet Witch
Jul 17, 2018

Despite a few neat gameplay touches Bullet Witch ultimately fails to impress and this remaster only goes to show that this game should have stayed in the past. What could have been an interesting third-person shooter is let down at almost every point by frustrating game design and bland level design.

Playing this game is like playing four different games of varying quality. If they'd just stuck to one idea and executed it well, this could have been a winner. As it is, sadly this is a game which is a jack of all trades but master of none.

3 / 10.0 - Bouncy Bob
Jul 13, 2018

I can't think of a single redeeming feature about this game. It's about as entertaining as a night out in Milton Keynes. Poor controls, lazy graphics, very little gameplay and everything is just a long, drawn out frustratio

5.5 / 10.0 - FOX n FORESTS
Jul 13, 2018

FOX n FORESTS is a game with a few really great things going for it - including its charming story and mostly clever level design that puts its clever season-changing mechanic to good use. Unfortunately, a few aggressive flaws quickly sap the fun out of the entire experience, including forced backtracking; annoying one-hit-kill autoscrollers out of nowhere; and its overall short playtime. It's difficult to recommend the game overall, but it might be worth it for hardcore retro platformer fans.
